[Scott Lively on the Southern Poverty Law Center]
My prayer, as one who really does hate irrational prejudice, is that the Lord by His sovereign power will remove this dangerous, hate-spreading organization from our nation and cause its leaders and members to repent for their wickedness. I want to make clear that I am asking God himself to destroy their organization

OK, let's giv him six months, which I think is generous for an all-powerful deity. When it doesn't happen, you'll publicly admit that you're wrong - won't you, Scott?
Okay, first of all, this rant isn't pot calling the kettle black. This is pot calling the clear drinking glass black. You speak of irrational prejudice. What's irrational about calling hate out for what it is? You preached hate, you've been labeled hate. Quit crying about it and denying it and own up to it like the so-called 'honest' Christian you are.
The entirety of this is just projection, and you rationalize like a five-year-old. The 'no you!' argument was abandoned on the elementary school playgrounds by rational adults long ago, and yet with your promotion of genocide and witch hunts in a vulnerable third world country, not to mention making a career of, well, hatred, promoting worldwide hatred of gays, you've merely shown my analogy above to be correct, and yourself to be the rather ugly and disgusting sad little man you are. You whine like a little kid thinking God's your invisible bouncer who protects you when you don't get your way. Sit down and shaddup Lively, no rational person would consider your bile.
So, you hate irrational prejudice so much that you're going to try to pray an organization which you know next to nothing about to its destruction. I see..
Well, pray away, then. Let us know how that works out for you.
Oh no! Not dangerous, hate-spreading TOLERANCE and human rights!!!
Oh, wait... There's something wrong with this picture.
Not being religious, I call 'praying' 'wishing'.
I also learnt long ago that 'wishing' something would happen is (as Mary Schmich wrote) about as effective as trying to solve an algebra equasion by chewing bubble gum.
Uh, yeah, I'm sure they're quaking in their boots.
And why hate the Southern Poverty Law Center? They fight for the rights of oppressed minorities and keep tabs on dangerous hate groups. I guess God loves hate.
"Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest." -- Proverbs 26:2, NIV
The Hebrew word translated as "curse" in that verse (qelalah) doesn't mean saying cuss words like "damn" or shit," it means either verbal wishing harm on someone or using magical acts to cause harm to someone.
Lively is invoking a supernatural force to "destroy" the SPLC. I think that qualifies as a "qelalah."
I believe Mr. Lively is a member of the American Family Association. Perhaps the destruction he has requested from God will instead come to his organization.....
Hey, if Anton Le Vey or Aleister Crowley had called upon their favorite supernatural forces to destroy the Southern Baptist Convention, folks like Lively would be screaming "Withcraft! Witchcraft!"
Very dangerous, Scott. When God sets out to destroy something, his aim is notoriously poor. If he tries to off the SPLC, he's likely to wipe out the board of education in some town in New Hampshire.
Scott Lively rants again.
Uh... can't think of anything else. Officer Barbrady, take over.
Barbrady: Move along, folks. There's nothing to see here.
Ah, the old "not letting us persecute others is persecution!" tactic again. Good times, good times. No wait, what am I saying; these are horrible times. It is only in America that people can say things like this and not commit political suicide by doing so. What prevented my parents from moving about 400 miles farther north, to where Canada is? I would've vastly preferred it...
So, how did whining to your invisible friend work out for you?
What? Nothing happened? How could that be, when God Himself obeys your orders? If you want someone smashed, He'd better hop to it or else!
What an arrogant prick. Here's an idea, Scotty: If you don't like being called hateful, try not spewing hate everywhere!
Confused?
