“I feel that now is the perfect time to speak my mind without fear of retaliation by the president, the attorney general, the federal government etc.,” Zimmerman explained. “Initially I was extremely alleviated. Quickly that turned into realization that the Department of Justice finding that there was no basis to pursue [federal] charges was just the beginning of a journey — my personal journey — to correct the wrongs that the federal government did. To ensure that it never happens to any innocent American ever again.”
The former neighborhood watchman insisted that he had a “clean conscience” after he was found to be not guilty.
“I believe God has his plans, and for me to second-guess them would be hypocritical, almost blasphemous,” he said when asked if he wished the encounter that ended Martin’s life would have turned out differently.

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, It's not everyday we see a murderer at FSTDT! Welcome, have a seat, this ones on fire, and the other is wired to the mainframe, your choice.
No matter whatever really happened on that evening, and whoever was right or wrong, the end result was one dead human. If such a thing happens, the normal response for everyone with even an ounce of empathy would be “What could I have done differently to prevent this tragedy from happening?”, not “Eh, God wanted it to happen.”.
Kill someone, hide behind Biblical idealism. It's an American tradition well steeped in patriotism.
@TimeToTurn
Zimmermans history before killing Martin was an out of control jerk frequently in trouble with the police but his granddads a retired judge (which for some strange reason carries the same weight as sitting judge.)
He was also told by police dispatch to stop following Martin and not to confront him making him the instigator not the victim.
It's a wonder there haven't been about 20 mass riots over the last decade over the many cases like this.
Once a filthy, piece of shit murderer, always a filthy piece of shit murderer. Next time, he'll be on the business end of iron bars for a LOT longer than he was this past outing.
You have shown yourself to be so stupid, George Z, that sometime soon you will drop one of your innumerable firearms with the hammer back, and we won't have to listen to your dribble anymore.
Oh, and thanks for shutting down those who insisted you couldn't possibly be a racist.
George Zimmerman, doubling down on racism and paranoia and hot temper and poor impulse control, now confessing to us all that he is utterly devoid of conscience and unfit to live in decent society, and bringing GOD in on his defense team, no less! Animal.
Fucking trifecta right here, folks. You could make a perfectly valid case for this being in every...single...board on this site.
It's like an FSTDT triple word score.
To ensure that it never happens to any innocent American ever again.”
Yes, no-one should be imprisoned for murder. I certainly hope someone tests that theory out n you in the very near future.
Shut your noise hole, you fat bag of shit. You provoked the kid after being explicitly told not to engage him. You brought everything on yourself & I love the idea that legions of people would love to see your useless head on a pike.
Just when I thought Zimmerman couldn't be a bigger piece of shit, he goes & proves me wrong.
... I was extremely alleviated.
Alleviate is a transitive verb. What, pray tell, did you alleviate?
This is honestly one of the most pissed off I've ever felt reading this site.
Dude, none of this shit would have happened if you had just stayed in your car like the police dispatcher told you too. But instead you did a stupid thing that led to the death of a kid who did nothing wrong. That is your fault, not God's.
@#1781387:
That Snopes article gives Zimmerman's actual quote as is quoted above:
Although Zimmerman did not specifically say that it was "God's plan for me to shoot Treyvon," he did state that "God does everything for a purpose":
On different perspectives with me as a Christian I believe that God does everything for a purpose, and he had his plans and for me to second guess them would be hypocritical and almost blasphemous.
While he didn't say specifically "God wanted me to shoot him," saying that "I was just a part of God's plans" is virtually the same thing and doesn't make it sound any better.
I hope the "Law-Of-Return Teflon" on this guy wears off soon. He's REALLY getting on my nerves.
If not, then there's his life after he ditches his body. I tell myself this everytime there's a so-called 'Karma Houdini' (though not everyone believes in that 'afterlife' stuff. I do, however). In the big cosmic scheme of things, THERE ARE NO "KARMA HOUDINIS"!.
"“I believe God has his plans, and for me to second-guess them would be hypocritical, almost blasphemous,” he said when asked if he wished the encounter that ended Martin’s life would have turned out differently."
The answer should be an unequivocal yes.
If you were worried about wrongs performed in that courtroom you'd crawl back to the justice system on your hands and knees and beg them to try you again with a grand jury and a judge that doesn't omit legal statutes to give you a leg up you lying sack of crap.
After being told to stay put you got out of your car, chased someone down who ran from you in terror, and brandished a gun while they held nothing more threatening than a bag of candy and a cell phone for no other reason than being out on a public sidewalk. Not skulking in the dark, not hiding in a bush, not on private property: On a sidewalk headed home. After your attempt at playing vigilante quite predictably went to shit you proceeded to make a wild story about a humanly impossible feat of sprinting, bushes that didn't exist, and attempts to grab a gun that only had your fingerprints on it from the completely concealed internal holster neither of you would have been able to reach if you were flat on your back like you claim. You also refused to go to the hospital and cops that should have known fucking better decided not to make you go under police escort depsite there being a shooting. They wrote it off as an attempted mugging despite having you recorded on audio leaping out of your car to physically restrain him without any legal ability to do so and considered the matter closed before even learning the dead kid's name and that his father was three blocks away expecting him to come home. You are not an innocent man and it horrifies me the Supreme Court didn't jump off their collective bench and shout bullshit when the unconstitutionally undersized jury reluctantly let you walk based on irregular instruction.
You should go ask O.J. for tips on writing your memoirs. Maybe you could go on a nice walk together and pick out a pair of driving gloves for each other before you get down to business.
Confused?
