[Anonymous fundie giving feedback on AIG's "educational" material]
I just wanted to write to you and let you know how well used your DVD’s are in my home. For Christmas we gave our son — (age 4) the Children’s DVD package. Since then, almost daily, he will ask to watch “Dinosaurs - Genesis and the Gospel”. Not only will he watch it, he and his sister—(age 6) will be riding in the car and quoting from it. One of his favorite lines is: “When someone says millions of years, Ask them, Were you there?”
[and Ken Ham is wondering...]
It is sad that the militant atheists like Richard Dawkins actually call this “a kind of child abuse”—yet, such secularists want millions of children taken through a public education system where they are indoctrinated to believe in naturalism–atheistic philosophy.

It is sadder that you think it sad, mr sad ham.
"yet, such secularists want millions of children taken through a public education system where they are indoctrinated to believe in naturalismatheistic philosophy."
You are too stupid to know what you are saying. And probably conceited enough to believe that you, alone, have pure motives. Do you think that rational people, who genuinely want their children to be as well informed about REALITY and able to take care of themselves as they can manage, are doing this because they are concerned one way or another about your mental illness and clearly irrational beliefs? It's only stupid people that continually make the proclamation that most other people are stupid and bad (like say, all the scientists across the world being sneaky conspirators). I mean, saying that all humans are stupid in the face of the universe, I agree with, compared to the depth and complexity of it all, we are nothing. But to say, everyone is stupid, and not include yourself in that statement...
"I'm sorry, Your Honor, but despite having a knife with the victim's blood on the blade and defendant's fingerprints on the hilt, the defendant having the victim's blood all over his clothing, and the defendant's MySpace page reading "lol i just killed my bitch gf", we simply cannot convict him because no one was there to actually see the murder happen."
"GAWD created the universe in six days six-thousand years ago!"
"Oh, really? Were you there?"
"...well, no, but it says so in this clearly unbiased information that I got from Kent Hovind and Ted Haggard!"
P.S: Keeping children deliberately ignorant about the world they live in just because you happen to hold a belief in the bloodthirsty deity of the ancient tribes of Jerusalem--like it or not, that's child abuse!
better yet
"God created the world in six days"
"Were you there?"
"No, but the Bible proves it."
so if something written in a book proves something, how many books can we come up with that have an alternate story of origin from creationism?
I'm guessing quite a few more than one.
P.S.
My six year old likes to watch movies too. One of her favorite lines from a movie that she likes to quote is "You can stay awake for days with no side effects. AHHHH!"
Is this true too? should I start a religious movement to make people stay awake, and declare them sinners if they don't function normally?
Dear Ken,
The education system is not indoctrinating children, fundtards like you are. Quite lying to children, and adults for that matter. No branch of science makes any claim to the existence or nonexistence of God, so by claiming teaching naturalism is promoting atheism just shows that you're full of shit.
The ultimate irony of this argument is that the millions of years argument was known of nearly 200 years ago.
When someone says millions of years... You provide evidence of geology, radiation and so on... Seriously!
Wait, so keeping your children literally sheltered from any other notions than the ones you approve of, training them to defend beliefs they don't even comprehend, that isn't child abuse or indoctrination.
I see.
So if a fundie teaches his kid about creationism, that is described as exposing the child to “educational material”; but if a parent exposes his kid to the evidence for evolution, that’s described as “indoctrination.”
Aw man, Ken, STFU! Stop using buzzwords and start using what's left of your brain.
Richard Dawkins wants to indoctrinate kids with evolution, you want to indoctrinate kids with bronze age myths.
People like this make me believe in the de-evolution of the human brain!
Oh, you know how kids are...they'll bounce between fads as easy as breathing. I equate this with Ninja Turtle merchandising, and like everything else, it will be superseded by another "living fairy-tale" soon enough. Parents will throw good money after bad in any case.
"GAWD created the universe in six days six-thousand years ago!"
"Oh, really? Were you there?"
Wow. Really. I'll have to remember that one:).
I really hope that person's children grow up, realize they were brainwashed, and become scientists so great they go on to win the Nobel Prize in Medicine for curing cancer and AIDS.
Maybe then they will have earned enough to pay back The Stupid they are involved in right now.
"Dinosaurs - Genesis and the Gospel" I shudder to think what level of delusional bullcrap propaganda is on that DVD. Just looking at the depiction of a T-Rex on the box art justifies a headdesk moment:

Especially when compared to what they actually looked like:

I wonder if Kent pulls out his gem of a theory about T-Rex eating stuffed pumpkins on this DVD...
And if someone says god created the universe, ask them "were you there?". Goes both ways.
I'm glad to see that you want your children to have absolutely no future past working at Walmart.
The same could we say about Genesis because, apparently, there was only Adam and Eve. And sorry, dear, we've got fossiles and dating systems............you fail!!!. You see?, it's what happens when you call the pot kettle and the kettle pot.
When your book says "six days," I ask: Were YOU there?
And are you, of all people, really accusing someone of INDOCTRINATING children's minds into a false philosophy?
Bring up kids to be twats like you is child abuse, as the "Were you there?" line of reasoning is the dumbest shit ever.
If we went by that reasoning, lots of crime would never be solved, even when evidence would be able to solve it.
Fuckwit.
Confused?
