Where do you get that thought that all religions sqash free thought? If anything, its ATHEISM and EVOLUTION that does NOT ALLOW FREE THOUGHT OUTSIDE THE PARAMETERS OF THOSE BOGUS THEORIES.

Evolution and atheism were formed thanks to free tought. Darwin was a revolution for the epoch, and still a revolution for biology.
The only thing that may parallel the influence of evolution in biology may be the discoveremnt of alien life.
PS: Sorry for my bad english ;)
Theories aren't "bogus" if the real experts in the field [NOT the religionist shitmongers] have not been able to refute them.
Atheism isn't a theory, it's a philosophy.
"Where do you get that thought that all religions sqash free thought?"
- The Council of Nicea, which outlined a specific definition of Christianity and declared all competing variants to be "heresies."
- The suppression of the Anabaptists
- The Inquisitions
- The forced conversion of native populations in Africa, Asia and the Americas
- The persecution of Galileo
And that's just off the top of my head!
Man, does this argument get old. They say "follow us, or you'll be damned to hell, follow us freethinkers!" And then, those who allow any kind of beliefs, thoughts, idea, opinions, or the like, no matter how insane they might be, are accused of being closed minded, by those who are so obviously closed minded. And, how does evolution not allow free thought? How can a scientific idea not allow a psychological response to external stimuli? The bullshit of fundamentalist christianity just gets weirder and weirder.

In fairness, you've only given examples of abuses committed in the name of Christianity.
Not all Christians are like that, and certainly not all religious traditions. It seems to me that Buddhism and perhaps Daoism in particular actively encourage free thought (especially Zen Buddhists).
But that is probably not what ItsAboutJesus meant. And even if it were, the rest of the quote completely mis-represents atheists, atheism, scientists, and evolutionary biology.
Confused?
