The vast majority of military women do not want to go into combat, but they will be forced into combat because that is what feminists want, and feminists have zero regard for other women or even for the majority of women. Feminists are brown shirts; many will scoff at me for saying that. When soldiers show up at your door to drag your daughter off to war against her will, then maybe you will believe me. Because feminists have never made a secret of their intention to force young women into combat against their will; feminists do not try to hide the fact that they are brown shirts,

Sorry, no. Ain't gonna happen. So get your ass back in the kitchen.
Women won't go into combat unless they are combat capable/ready. There is an enormous support mechanism behind the combat mission that is well run by women as well as men who will also never see actual combat.
"When soldiers show up at your door to drag your daughter off to war against her will, then maybe you will believe me."
Unless your daughter is a deserter, that's not gonna happen. Also, why is it ok if that would happen to your son, but for your daughter it's awful?
OK, this one of those no true scotsman arguments. Lots of women want to sign up for combat (to serve their country, to earn combat pay, because combat is the fastest way to climb the promotion ladder, etc.)you say. No, Miss Campbell states, because no true women wants to break their nails shooting those nasty guns. All very neat.
Oh, and lots of times soldiers showed up at front doors to drag young men off to war against their will. It's called conscription, and it's still on the books.
Who would really want to go into combat? Seriously. Nobody really wants to be in a war zone. War is hell.
Honeslty, I don't think men should have to enlist and I don't believe men or women should be drafted. But if the government does it to men, it should also apply to women as that is only fair. And, of course, if a woman signs up for the military she knows full well what she's getting into. If she chooses to go into combat that's her choice, not feminism forcing her into it or some nonsense.
So basically you are arguing that feminists want to bring back the Draft. You know, when they forced young men to go to war against their will. But, of course, that was o.k., amirite?
Welcome to Conservativeland! The magical, backwards utopia where Jesus is whiter than Michael Bolton, flooding the already poor job market with underpaid children and removing the minimum wage eliminates poverty, Christians are persecuted by the gay majority, and increasing the number of volunteers who are able to go into battle will cause a spontaneous draft.
Joining the military is kind of an agreement to go into combat sometime in the future. If you don't want to go into combat, DON'T JOIN THE ARMY, silly!
I'd say that most feminists would be happy if NO-ONE went into combat, if we endeavored to solve our problems peacefully instead. But yes, as the intention of feminists is equal rights for everyone, if military men go into combat, military women ought to go into combat too.
"The vast majority of military women do not want to go into combat,"
Neither do the vast majority of military men. Nobody in their right mind would.
Because feminists have never made a secret of their intention to force young women into combat against their will
Having actually read some feminist theorists, the general idea seems to me that physical combat and violence are integral to patriarchy and that feminists struggle for peace. Show me the feminist who thinks combat is good and that women should be forced to fight against their will.
The vast majority of military women do not want to go into combat
The vast majority of men do not want to go into combat, either. what exactly is your point?
Wasn't giving us "men's jobs" supposed to mean that we would have to share toilets with men?
As a former 97B, my view is that any time actual combat has to take place, it's due to a failure of intelligence and/or diplomacy. In spite of my distaste for dirt and loud noises, I've been shot at several times, always when I was supposed to be in a "safe" area. Every person in the military trains for combat to some degree. Increasing that training can't hurt.
@fishtank:
For the travel, and the water-skiings, sir, not for the killing. I asked them to put that on my form, "no killing".</python>
I stated in the above quote that feminists want women to be drafted; most of those commenting on this thread agree that women should be drafted, which kind of proves my point. I don't believe that men should be drafted either; one person commenting accused me of being a racist Christian fundamentalist. I don't even go to church, and accusing someone of being a racist based on a quote that said nothing about race whatsoever is just, well, I don't know :)
Confused?
