Really can any of you point out any flaws in the teachings or life of Jesus? I can with just about ANY other religion or religion's founder. At one point I tried to dismiss Jesus the same way, but it just can't be done.

Virtually any OT criticism you come across is something taken out of context, or just flat out distorted. The only one I've ever came across that holds any water are the passages telling them to wipe out their enemies even the women & children. And to be honest those do bother me. But you know if God exists he gave those people life in the first place. He has the right & the power to take it back.

What part of Jesus's teachings or life that could be dismissed out of hand is relevant at all to the core tenets of Christianity anyway? The idea that he is a man-god, and that he taught that he was, are the key issue and it is simply unfalsifiable (hence, skepticism).

You'd think if there was an omnipotent, omniscient, omniall being, then he/she/it would be capable of properly instructing the people that first wrote religious texts. Instead, there are so many different sects and denominations that I can pretty firmly conclude that none of them is correct.
Okay, so even if there were no flaws in jesus' teachings, why do you people have such difficulty following them?

Deuteronomy 22:23-24 - "If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife."
Deuteronomy 22:28-29 - "If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her."
Explain to me the context in which these passages become moral.
How about the whole "looking at a woman is adultery" crap, and that there should be no divorce ever unless a MAN decides his wife cheated on him and "puts her away." But she can never remarry until he dies. That stupid fucking utterance has caused more suffering to women than you can measure. Tell me how that's a good rule? Just who benefits, asshole?
I can find flaws in Jesus's teachings simply by reading what are supposed to be his own words, directly out of the Holy Bible itself.
It's mentioned in several places (Matthew 21:21-22, Mark 11:24-25, John 14:13-14, etc) that, if someone truly believes and asks for something in prayer, it shall be granted. Not MAY be granted, if God decides you need it. Not MAY be granted, if God doesn't already have other plans. But WILL be granted, no ifs, ands, or buts.
The very fact that so many people who believe in Christ, and pray, and do not find their prayers answered, is proof that the Bible and the teachings of Jesus are false.

Sure, quite a few things attributed to him are questionable, imo.
1) Killing a fig tree because it had no fruit, yet it wasn't in season.
2) Destroying someones property by drowning their herd of pigs.
3) Telling people to cut off their hands and feet, and pluck out our eyes to avoid going to hell.

Any honest skeptic, recognising that proving a negative is impossible, takes a negative position and asks for proof, not disproof.

I have this wonderful neighbor. He always is bringing me stuff from his garden, helping out when needed and in general he is just such a fine guy. Says all the right things does all the right things. I know he is a mass murderer and all and that bothers me a bit but I think the guy is great and he will continue to be my best friend. I just love that guy. I just don't know what I would do without him.
Flaws in the teachings? Well the teachings were what he believed, so it's hard to say there's a *flaw* in them unless you simply don't agree with them.
Flaws in his life? As in, the life recorded in the Bible? Oh yeah... ooooohhh, yeah...

Well, one flaw--and I consider this to be a pretty major one--is that the "teachings [and] life of Jesus" were taken from the teachings and lives of several other mythological people who "existed" centuries before Jesus, such as Horus and Mithra.
The same way we can't point out any flaws in the life of Harry Potter.
I am sorry, do you know what we call children with magnifying glasses who run around burning ants? We tell them thats wrong. No one has that right to take away life without "good reason". God did not have any good reason to encourage his "chosen" to kill, rob and rape.

If He has the right and power to take the lives of those He finds unworthy, why does He need brainwashed sociopaths to do the dirty work?
Because, as nearly as anyone can figure out, He has always depended on His slaves to carry out His plans. And He doesn't even give detailed instructions or personal briefings. He just lets His slaves guess about what He wants done.
