Agreed. All societies where men held the cards in divorce (19th century US, present-day Muslim societies) have very LOW divorce rates. Men always put the children first, while women never do.
The only way to have a low divorce rate society is for men to have most of the rights in the marriage, and then rely on the time-tested fact that men are just more responsible and aware of what is best for society.
A statement like this from a woman merely reveals how little they know about history, and how little curiosity they have for it.

This is bait, isn't it? I mean, this is literally sticking fingers in ears and going "la la la olden times were better and no man ever abused/mistreated a woman or his kids". He's using the goddamn MUSLIMS as an example!
And that last sentence makes me want to repeatedly headbutt a wall. I'm a guy raised by a single mother because my dad... long story. Sadly, she had a terrible taste in men, and I actually saw the "more responsible and aware" ones with my own two eyes.
My now ex is grossly irresponsible. She stopped paying the bills for months, didn't attend to urgent demands from our insurance company that certain repairs be made immediately and then left me and the kids with no money and utilities on the verge of being turned off. I had to borrow $10k from my dying grandmother just to undo the mess. She got preganant with another married man's child. Then she didn't pay child support for many, many months because she couldn't afford it, but somehow managed a trip to Las Vegas. Even after all of that, I don't think women in general are less responsible, only that one particular woman is.
Infedelity among both sexes was also far higher.
Not that I'd complain, mind, but the illusion that lack of divorce was somehow a prestine society is...dumb...
Men always put the children first, while women never do.
That's why there are so many examples of judges taking one look at the father and his record and awarding custody to the wife.
Because heaven forbid that people treat their partners in a way that doesn't make them want to get divorces. (Actually, heaven probably does forbid that...)
Maybe I'm biased, but you know, divorces don't actually destroy the fabric of society. I mean, they're not necessarily the greatest thing ever, but given a choice between a happy society with lots of divorce or an unhappy one with none, I'll take the first in a heartbeat.
Now go to those societies and ask the women in private how happy they are.
Oh but women's feelings don't matter to you, do they? Which is likely why you'd end up divorced.
And I LOL'ed at the idea that women never put their children first.
You can't tell cause from effect, so it's no wonder that your conclusions are bullshit. A statement like yours merely reveals how little men know about logic, and how little curiosity they have for it.
@Anon-E-Moose
That "next" would have to be Donald Trump.
This has absolutely NO EQUATION with taking care of the wife and children, many of those cases would be more comparable to slumlord and abused tenants OR just plain raising and supporting the kids and herself, herself.
Confused?
