Evolution is the theory atheists use to draw people away from Christianity. Atheism is a religion,and should not be taught in schools unless they are willing to here other theories also.
you cant be a Christian and believe in Evolution!

Atheism is not a theory nor is it a religion. Evolution does not require belief or faith.
However, both atheism and evolution do require intelligence and an open, inquiring mind.
"However, both atheism and evolution do require intelligence and an open, inquiring mind."
Not really. It's easily possible (and I've known a few such people) to be atheist or accept evolution while being dense, ignorant, and/or close-minded. Any position can be held without valid reasoning or with dogmatism.
As for this fundie, Francis Collins and Ken Miller (as well as a large chunk of mainstream Christians) would disagree. And they happen to be right.
Evolution=Atheism- Check.
Atheism=Religion- Check.
Not be a Christian and believe in Evolution- Check.
Evolution used to draw people away from Christianity- Check.
Im getting a Poe/Nutjob vibe from this one guys... but meh. The points just seem too... cliche to me.
Yeah, we atheists go door-to-door, handing out science books to Christians in an attempt to get them to switch to our one true church. We also make an attempt to have "The Origin Of Species" placed in every motel room for similar reasons.
the Pontiff Maximus, who has a direct line to your Deity, apparently, condemns you and your type as heretics and destined for Hades for all eternity. I'd be very very scared if I was you.
"Atheism is a religion,and should not be taught in schools unless they are willing to here other theories also."
Fortunately, only Evolution is taught in science class, though I believe atheism may be mentioned in some schools' social studies classes, alongside other theories about the meaning of life, as you suggest.
Atheism is a religion,and should not be taught in schools unless they are willing to here other theories also.
That theory has already been tested in court and thrown out.
Sorry, but only fundies are true xians. Everyone else is weak-willed fakes. They know their religion is bullshit but are too cowardly to admit it. One either believe all of the stupid book or none of it. If one chooses only what one wants to believe 'cause it makes them feel better, they're just using their own decisions but are too cowardly to say "this is how I feel" but instead pretend they get the ideas from some stupid theology, and in doing so make the fundies stronger.
Either that or they're actually capable of believing 2 completely opposite things at once, which means they have severe mental problems. And Francis Collins is the best case of severe mental problems of this sort that I've ever heard. "Der, that random frozen waterfall is in 3 pieces, therefore xianity must be true!! OOOooo! A power outlet. I wonder what would happen if I stuck a fork in there..."
"Either that or they're actually capable of believing 2 completely opposite things at once, which means they have severe mental problems. "
This is a defining characteristic of fundies.
Comparing Atheism to Evolution is like comparing Vodka to Apple Sauce you fucking tard.
You apparently can't be a fundy and be able to have a rational thought either. Please....All fundies go to Texas. All sane Texans...Just pack up and go. it's for the greater good. Once your across the line we will put up a big fence around texas (but leave the border to Mexico open) and shoot any Fundies that try to get to America.
"Evolution is the theory atheists use to draw people away from Christianity."
Wouldn't that be a waste of time and energy when Christian Fundies are doing the job of making people reject Christianity so much more efficiently?
As one person once said, the Bible has made more atheists then any other book.
Atheism is a religion,and should not be taught in schools unless they are willing to here other theories also.
Maybe we can start with the schools in Bumblefuck, Alabama teaching dumbass rednecks like jnj3225 the difference between "hear" and "here" ... then we can move on to more esoteric stuff like evolution.
You can be a Christian and accept the mountains of evidene for evolution, sure.
But you also have to be pretty skilled at mental gymnastics.
@stogoe:
Well, it's only mental gymnastics if you're a biblical literalist.
If you're a Christian that accepts the Bible as more of a set of moral guidelines by use of parables, then there's no gymnastics involved. I suppose that's approaching deism, though, isn't it?
Werewolf, you are so bloody right. As a recovering Southern Baptist, and fundies in general,we were not really "allowed" to question doctrine(it's Satan making you doubt)Questioning anything was basically forbidden. People are encouraged to give up all old friends so they can't draw you back into your former life of sin. Two of the most frightening things they would say are "Are you sure you're saved?" and Don't blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. It's the unforgivable sin. Truly controlling, that.
hmm... minus the religion part thats disputable. Can you really omit so much from the bible, call it canon, etc. What makes a part of the bible canon, other then its eventual disproval?
Anyways - to earlier posters athiesm does require faith, but it is not a religion by any traditional definition. Faith that god doesn't exist, it may be a miniscule amount of faith since you can't prove a negative, save if the negative would conflict with a proven belief.
Well, organized religion, to me, seems like the root of the world's problems. So...I believe in an ultimately open-minded God AND evolution. So...yeah.
You are suffering from delusions of grandeur if you think the primary objective of the ToE is to draw people away from your staggeringly idiotic faith. That may well be one of its effects, because of course it completely contradicts your strict creationist bullshit, but even the tiniest dollop of common sense can do that.
Oh, and you can be a christian without being a fundie. I know, I used to be the former but not the latter - and even then I accepted evolution as a done deal.
1. Evolution does not drive people away from Christianity. LYING puts people off, however. I was lied to about how evolution is impossible, and you know, being lied to is really detrimental to one's faith.
2. Atheism is not a religion, as it has no doctrines, no dogma, etc.
3. Atheism isn't taught in schools.
4. There are no alternative theories to evolution.
5. Yes, you can be a Christian and believe in evolution, just as you can be a Christian and believe the Earth is round. Get over yourself.
"you cant be a Christian and believe in Evolution!"
- The sad thing is that you seem to think that you are saving Christianity when you say that when you are, in fact, helping to kill it.
Don't be an idiot. You cannot speak for other sects of christianity. Many of them are science-literate, look at a post like yours, and blush with shame that you should be pretending to speak for all christianity.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
