[On the California Supreme Court allowing a gay marriage ban on the November ballot.]
"We’re pleased the court did not — silence the people’s voice this November as well,” said Brian Raum, senior legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund. “The opponents of marriage have proven that they are willing to use any means necessary to impose their will. "

Allowing same-sex marriage.
Eliminating marriage or reducing its beneficial effects
As you can see, they are not the same.
"The opponents of marriage have proven that they are willing to use any means necessary to impose their will."
So true, they really are going to use any means available to make sure gays can't marry. I suppose even fundies accidentally say the truth now and then.
For fucks sake. Do they honestly think their marriage traditions have any meaning anyway beyond a ring, a piece of paper, and glory in the eyes of some fictional deity? It's just a fucking ceremony, it doesn't make you special.
Focus on the Family...aren't those the same douchebags who hassle the s*** out of WTKS Real Radio 104.1? I'm really not happy with how you guys managed to crap all over my second favorite morning show.
And just give up on keeping gay marriage off the books, matey-boy. It's not a matter of it; it's a matter of when it becomes legal. And why is that so? Because in America a marriage only needs the sanction of the government---religious institutions play zero part in how legitmate someone's marriage is.
amazing the way they excuse inhibiting other people's liberties, rights, and benefits on the grounds of pure bigotry.
Anybody for banning miscegenation

This despite recent polling suggesting the opinions of the people of California haven't budged on Prop 8 in over a month; 52% opposed, 42% in favor. Doesn't bode well for the pro-hates. In California 90% of ballot initiatives which don't start out with a majority in favor generally fail at the ballot box. But a month with no traction? That's pretty good news for Teh Gheys. Teh Fundies are of course in a state of mass-hysteria.
Don Wildmon (fundy tard) recently declared in a newsletter to the American Family Association that if they don't pass Prop 8 "Christians" will have lost the culture war. Really? Failing to pass the pro-hate amendment in Massachusetts hasn't stopped fundies from proposing it EVERY FREAKIN SESSION. But whatever.
Mark my words: if Californians reject Prop 8 then the very next attack piece the fundies will write will be about "Un-elected liberal activist VOTERS" in California redefining marriage.
So, what happens to the people who are already legally married? Do their marriages still count? What about joint assets?
It would be a mess to reverse it now.

Homosexuals are people, too. But of course, you're not concerned about silencing THEIR voices.

Why, hello, there, kettle! You're looking awfully black today! Hypocrite.
Confused?
