In a country as rich and well rooted in Christianity, do you really think there are REAL atheists? This isn't the UK. The US actually has a Bible belt. Texas is the buckle!!!

You merely deny the truth because you want to live your life believing you are better than others. The only truth is Christianity and it's also the only religion where all people are equal in God's eyes. Nothing else places people of every background creed, race, belief on equal ground like Christianity.

Accept it and move on.

Unfortunately, this is untrue. Ours is a world of unreason where homeopathy, religion, superstition and other nonsense runs rampant.

Atheism may well be wrong, but it's the only rational way to approach religion. The only rational way to look at the belief in an unproven God is to deny His existence. Of course God may still exist (atomic theory would be disregarded, too, if presented in the Viking Age), but as it is today, there's no rational reason to be anything but atheistic. If you are religious, it's for emotional support or some other reason.

Unsupported assertion. I dare say a good deal of atheists, very likely the majority, really do not believe in gods.

First of all, statistically, wealth is more of an indicator of atheism than of religion. Second of all, the USA isn't "well rooted in Christianity". It was founded as a secular nation.

Many countries, or all of them, have areas where religion is stronger.

Strawman. Atheism is not a belief that we're better than others, nor do I see how such a belief should be a logical consequence of atheism. Atheism is merely the disbelief in gods.

I have no idea whatsoever as to what this means. God and the Bible routinely label whole peoples as worthy of destruction and/or eternal damnation.

Lots of religions preach that all people are equal. The Abrahamic mythologies are not among them.

Yeah Tex, like Santa Ana got defeated at the Alamo. Texas is not the Buckle on the Bible Belt, the whole damn South (where I happen to live)is! THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING! It is why we make up the top states' in the list in everything bad and the bottom of the list in everything good. And once again the myth of the Christian founders of our country rears its ugly head. Read some real history, and THE US CONSTITUTION before you make up lies about our "Founding Fathers" to fulfil your political agenda. And God really hates double liars, so you really need to pray for forgiveness! MODERATE Christians view all people equal in God's eyes, fundies like you preach bigotry against anyone who disagrees with YOUR brand of prejudiced self-righteous pronouncements(Homosexuals, non-Christians, women, pro-choice people, MODERATE CHRISTIANS are all going to hell), so quit claiming someone else's beliefs to make yours seem more palatable to others. Like Christianity allows you to believe you're better than others because you're With God(tm)? Satanism (true LaVeyan Satanism) preaches "responsibility to the responsible," and people should be given respect and power based solely on competency at what you do. Personally, I think that's a better system than total equality regardless of circumstance, as long as there is always an opportunity to improve one's competency, and thus one's stature, through hard work. And you don't REALLY place people on equal ground regardless of belief. Let me guess what you're going to say next: the people who think Muslims and Atheists should be shot on sight (as I've seen on this site more than once) aren't "True Christians (TM)".

actually my parents didn't force me to go to church. In fact, except for once or twice because my mom thought the xmas/easter services "were really cute", and only at a very young age, were we dragged there.
The only time I was ever forced was because the string-orchestra I was a part of regularly did concerts/weddings there. And that didn't matter to me, since I was there to play stuff, not pray. In fact, all that 'communion' stuff, we weren't actually told WHAT it was, nor what "god" was, or what was actually going on. it was just "oh go there for your religion class this week". We were all inducted into that thing and most of us had no idea what the hell was going on, let alone 'joined' the church willingly/knowingly. as for hosts, I'd been eating the cutouts (hey, 25 cents a pack makes for cheap eating) for years and saw no difference there. So... Atheist here, never had any reason to rebel against parents religiousness (or virtual lack thereof). And fundies claim we all believe from brith...

According to polls & surveys done by the EU, the Czech Republic is the least religious country in Europe (In Sweden, just 5% of the population are regular churchgoers; less so in Denmark) But then, I guess once being told what to do by a previous totalitarian regime will do that to a country. In Soviet Prague, God worships you.

The Czechs have the right idea: religion has no right to tell people what to do. In the 21st Century, it's people who should be telling religion - and it's clergy - what to do. Atheists are God, and the likes of Pat Robertson et al must bow down and worship us.

The US doesn't even have a state religion; not so much as word one of 'God', 'Jesus', or so much as a 'Creator' in it's Constitution. The UK has a state religion, the Church of England. We have even more Separation of Church and State here than you; our C-of-E clergy aren't allowed to vote. I live in the Top 5 least religious cities in Britain.
