“Kiss my Aviation Boatswains Mate ass.”
Back up to this bubblehead and bend over, sweetie.
“Just before I got out of Navy in 1986, I remember all the bogus sexual harassment charges against male sailors who simply looked at a female in an complimentary way.”
I remember that ‘Looking at a woman in a complimentary way.’ Telling fellow sailors whether or not you found them fuckable. And those ungrateful brats wanted to be treated like professionals.
“Then there was all the pre and post deployment pregnancies so the females didn't have to continue or go on the next cruise.”
There are scams, yes. People used to get out of a billet in Scotland by getting married. can’t have two married people at a command, so they’d send the one with the shortest time remaining back to the states. The scammers made sure that was the guy. Then she would turn up pregnant. The command didn’t have the resources to suport her, so SHE got returned to the states. Then they got an abortion, a quickie divorce, everyone goes on with their career.
But the fact that SOME sailors did this doesn’t condemn ALL men and women.
“And then there is the infamous Tail Hook convention where a couple of female sailors got slapped on the ass in the same traditional way ball players do.”
Some women got raped. The general response was that either they wanted it or they should have expected it. Which only made them madder.
“Many a highly trained Aviators were grounded or kick out of the Navy. That was Rep. Schroeder's big cause.”
That was my first really big sexual harrassment seminar. A 2-star admiral yelled at us to grow the fuck up for abuot an hour. The POINT was that the women were sailors, too, not prostitutes, or slaves, and deserve the same respect. Those that could not or would not show respect for the women, the Navy didn’t want to keep.
“If women don't want to play by the same rules and traditions as the men, they should stick to admin duties ashore.”
I also remember all the complaints about women getting all the shore billets before they were allowed on combat vessels.
Grow the fuck up.
