Here in Baltimore, a mosque has just been approved right in the center of the most orthodox area in town. I don't understand it. It's a beautiful old home right on the corner of a large lawn and my husband told me the neighboring synagogue said they are going to work with them in the community. What?
Oh, that's right, silly me, most of the synagogue members also vote for Owebama. It gives me the creeps just driving by imagining it. God help us.

They're not even bothering to hide it anymore, are they?

If you're concerned about beauty, then don't be. Mosque architecture is very pretty.

What does Obama have to do with this? Last I checked he wasn't on the Baltimore zoning commission.

That's because you're imagining this:

American Muslims tend to keep to themselves and not bother anyone because they're a minority and a hated one at that so they can't afford to cause any trouble.
As far as I know, most AMERICANS voted for Obama. Being in America ought to give you the creeps, then...
I think it sounds very heart-warming that the synagouge means to work with the new mosque. Both groups worship the Abrahamic god, after all.
Wait, don't you do that too?
And in another part of America ...
"Here in Mississippi, a synagogue has just been approved right in the center of the most Christian area in town. I don't understand it. Yes, and you have no business posting on a site called American THINKER!
If the black evangelical church gets in on the act, it's the ultimate cracker nightmare.
(By amazing coincidence, this unbelieving Jew is right now listening to music in praise of Allah - Dimming of the Day by Richard & Linda Thompson).
Right from my office window I can see the tiny minaret (Turkish pencil style) of a mini mosque. I think that's just fine.
On the one hand I think it's good that it's there, on the other hand I think it's just as foolish and dumb as any church, synagogue, temple, or what have you.
Houses of worship are like Las Vegas casinos: you go there to lose. The only difference is that in Vegas you have a slight chance of actually winning.

Gee, it's almost as if Muslims aren't the bloodthirsty terrorists you think they all are.
Funny how Jews and Muslims can work together in the community in harmony, but Baptists and Catholics can't seem to agree on anything.
There's a mosque in Boston. Take the Orange Line to Roxbury Crossing. You can't miss it. It's not far from Mission Church, in Mission Hill, where Ted Kennedy's funeral was. No one seemed to mind.

Proof that the most progressive former Slave State in the union still has its fundies.
By the way, remember when California was a Republican stronghold? For many decades until Clinton was elected? These Muslims voted Republican due to Abrahamic values.
Maybe the reason they vote for Obama despite not sharing the President's moral values is because of all the anti-Islam rhetoric being spoken and/or defended by GOP lawmakers.
Ironically, if the GOP was more respectful of other religions, the Dems would be in big trouble.
the neighboring synagogue said they are going to work with them
Yeah that is a problem, if people start being tolerant you will never know where it is going to end. Next thing you know people will start saying that Jesus was a tolerant guy, and he was about love and stuff like that. Oh wait that already happened. I guess your intolerant version of the Bible is kinda screwed.
Oh and a double yay for the Synagogue.
@fapwank:
Thanks for painting all Americans as idiot fundamentalists who are all part of the (very small but very vocal) Tea Party.
You're nearly as bad as the OP.
I'm almost inclined to think you're Brendan Rizzo in disguise.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
