The vast differences in how we treat gender, the absolutely maddening ways we view race, the consistently inconsistent application of the law to favour groups that will then somehow find a way to complain laws favour everyone but them, how we preserve or pervert our history, how we’ve viewed sexuality…
And I’ll agree with the notion that pageants are a bubbling stew of every kind of depravity buried deep in the most horrible reaches of the human psyche somehow wrapped up in a package starstruck stage managers who should never have become parents and their audience of degenerates living vicariously through them have convinced themselves is wholesome while they watch child abuse elevated into a sick new art form and clap. And fail to realize just how goddamned horrifying it sounds to actually describe what they’re doing which is sitting with a camcorder watching children play dress up. At an adult’s direction. And then assigning them a value on how appealing they were.
