Destruction in Phillipines is God's judgment on catholic idolatry of intercession/veneration of saints.God has condemned all those who do idolatry to eternal hell fire-Revelations21:8,and christians have been warning the catholic/orthodox for the last 1600 years since the origin of catholicism by corrupting God's Holy Church with idolatry, yet they didn't repent. So God is now directly warning them, with these natural disasters. Will you catholics heed this warning ,and leave your idolatry of intercession/veneration of saints,so that you may have blessings of God instead of his curse and wrath?
Many of you catholics are sick because you attend Eucharist after doing this idolatry of intercession/veneration of saints ,which God has warned us through Apostle Paul not to do.
God bless you to see the truth and reality .

And you know this exactly how again? Because you read it in some bronze-age book? Because of some voice in your head? Did he specifically tell just you? On the phone? Text message? Email?
Yeah, your God is a big enough dick to fuck with people that barely have a pot to piss in. Meanwhile, a sumptuous dinner is served in the Vatican.
Unfortunately for your pet theory, it's only weather. It happened because it could, and for no other reason. Your deity was playing with frogs and bugs, according to your book, way back in the time of Moses. By now, He's not powerful enough to dampen a match.
Ah, yes, the god the "all-powerful" that can't defeat a rubber condom, or the iron chariot. Is this the one you're talking about?
So it took gobber this much time to get some weather organized? And why didn't he hit Italy? Or Ireland? Or any one of a shitload of other catholic countries?
Me, I'll trust the scientists who say we can expect a lot more energetic weather given climate change. Ain't got nothing to do with Jeebus.
Ya moron.
Warning the catholics for 1600 years? WTF? And here I thought the Reformation was only about 500 years ago.
Oh, wait, that's right, the Baptists have been around for 2000 years.
So if you reject intercession, does that mean if your child is lying on its death bed, you're not going to pray for its recovery? Because that's what intercession means: praying to God on someone else's behalf. I think what Protestants complain about isn't "intercession", but "invocation" - asking someone else to intercede for you. And even that is accepted by Christians of all stripes. Where Roman Catholics and Protestants part company (500 years ago, not 1,600 years ago) is the question of whether one may "invoke" someone who's already dead. And there's no clear scriptural support for either opinion, although both will yak at each other with their own interpretations of scripture to try and support their position.
@ Churchy LaFemme :
Ooh, I'd forgotten that new "theory" that Protestant Christianity was actually the TRUE original Christianity, and that the early Catholics stole it.
Does that particular hypothesis have a name? I can't find anything about it on RationalWiki.
How can anyone who professes to be a Christian not know that without the Catholics, there would be no Bible?
Oh, that's right, BV is not a Christian, he's a Paulian.
Churchy LaFemme wrote Oh, wait, that's right, the Baptists have been around for 2000 years.
As insane as it sounds, some of them actually believe this, that modern Baptist churches were founded by Christ himself and predate Catholicism. Google 'Landmarkism' or 'The Trail of Blood' by James Milton Carroll.
"Beyond Vatican"
More like Beyond Belief.
Paul was a power hungry asshole that even the other Apostles didn't like and who corrupted and polluted Jesus' teachings for his own greed. Everything Paul warned us not to do, we should strive to do and everything he warned us to condemn should be celebrated instead.
And those are my two fucking cents on Paul.
I'll pay you all of the money I have and convert to whatever religion you want me to as soon as a hurricane hits Vatican City.
It's weird that your God would be so indirect as to constantly miss and hit the Caribbean or the Atlantic with his hurricanes, as opposed to capital city devoted to Catholicism on Earth.
Pahahah!
I wish you a painful death.
Usually I avoid wishing even the most self-righteous people ill, but to use this disaster as a ploy is evil
News flash, the people credited with writing the New Testament are saints. Do you not venerate them?
Idolatry does not mean praying in the presence of an image. It means that you pray TO the image, believing that the being you are praying to resides in the image.
Many of you Protestants are sick because you attend services in the presence of people who don't believe in vaccination. And, there are plenty of Baptists and other protestant denominations in the Philippines.

Strange, huh? God must really hate those Catholics.
And yet the Vatican has more money and riches than any other religion on the earth.
Of course, the fact that they have billions in wealth and only sent $150,000 to the Philippines means that the Vatican should have been hit by a hurricane.
Then why didn't God focus his wrath on the Vatican? Or even Italy? Surely there's a greater concentration of Catholics there than in the Philippines?
As an omniscient and omnipotent being, God sure has shitty aim.
Hi, Ray Jehovah here. Bob Satan just turned me on to this forum. Would you guys please stop ripping on me for my aim? Have you ever heard of Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle? Do you know how small a target your entire planet is from up here? What do you think all those solar flares are? That's me, missing completely! I keep trying though, and you know why? Because I hate all of you equally! If you were me for just one day, you'd understand. You think email spam and phone spam is a pain? Try, "Please, God" this, and "Oh God," that, constantly, every second, and from several sources at once! If you don't stop whining, one of these days I'll stop with the warnings and really cut loose! Now quit bothering me and have a nice day!
Ray
(Natural disater-wise):
Philippines: 86% Catholic
Haiti: 95% Christian (85% Catholic)
USA: 66 million+ Catholic
Vatican City: 100% Catholic
One of these things is not like the other. Which is it? [/"Angels & Demons"]
Holland. Still to this day, a mainly Protestant country:

And before then, soft drug use tolerated & legal brothels in it's capital Amsaterdam. Question: why no 'disasters' there?
Either your 'God' is a piss-poor shot, re. his 'wrath', or geo-meteorological shit happens, and your God doesn't exist.
Luke 13:4
"Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? " (Jesus himself teaching the core of the gospel).
Therefore, the OP is plaspheming on Jesus. Not a big deal. My pastor said yesterday that blaspheming on Jesus was not a big deal, the surest path to hell is blasphemy on the holy spirit(I forgot why, but he really said that). Still fun(die)
Like I say, Philippines: 86% Catholic.
Some Filipinos are so devout, at Easter, they have themselves nailed to crosses, voluntarily, and of their own free will.
Are you prepared to show that kind of devotion to your God, BV? Matthew 19:21, and donating the money to the Tacloban Disaster appeal will do, thanks.
Every second you're not obeying the absolute orders of God via his Word, you're proving yourself inferior - certainly beliefs/faith-wise - to those Catholic Filipinos who take up their cross: literally .
1600 years ago there were only Catholics and Orthodox people within Christianity, stupid! Protestants didn't appear until Luther presented his 95 theses in 1517, only 500 years ago.
Neither intercession nor veneration is idolatry, as neither is worship.
If God wanted to exact judgment on Catholic idolatry, why didn't he aim at the Vatican state, the very heart of Catholicism?
Confused?
