This can only lead to a Nuclear War, unless there is some sort of appeasement.
Zelensky is an actor that is being carried away by his role, the man is extremely dangerous because he is a master of propaganda and manipulation.
His will to recapture Crimea (which has always been Russian) is totally irresponsible. He's willing to sacrifice his people and a number of other nations in a war with no winners that can take civilization back 50 years or more.

Signing onto NATO doesn’t require US nuclear bases inside the country.
And, really, with the weapons we have right now, we have absolutely no need to position any in Finland.
We don’t even make deterrent patrols in the Med anymore. I doubt we ever patrolled in the Black Sea.
Every improvement in the systems increases our range and accuracy. And we can pull nukes out of other countries. When we do, we pretend we’re doing them a favor, rather than just retiring systems that are obsolute or Overcome By Events.

The whole entire goddamned POINT of nuclear arms pointed at other countries is to PREVENT nuclear war. To convince them NOT to invade, or push past a certain line in the sand, else the consequences would be horrible, too horrible to consider.

Lots of nukes pointed at Moscow does not force him to shoot nukes at Ukraine (or anyone else). Rather, he (and all the officers between him and the launch centers) would have to be crazy to start such a ruckus. Since the officers have kids in London schools, wives in Paris shops, girlfriends in Miami, they’re going to resist destroying the whole world.

So your solution is to let him do what he wants? Schoolyard bullies don’t stop until being met with a superior force, whether from a teacher or from their victims.
