Humans no longer being treated as living merchandise does not equal human life becoming worthless, asshole. If anything, it makes it closer to invaluable than it was when people could get traded like commodities.

Aside from your priorities being messed beyond hope, you don't seem to realize that sexual slavery was usually at least a secondary reason for buying a female slave, even when prostituting her wasn't the primary motivation.
Mind you, many boys and men were also used as sex slaves, people just looked away due to gender politics of the times. Of course, in our modern world homosexuality or women taking the lead aren't something that has to be hidden anymore, so tell you what, let's re-establish slavery: I'll buy you and have a brothel rent you to closet-case skinheads and ugly fat dominatrixes with a taste for spiked strap-on dildoes. What, you assumed you'd get to be a master...?

It's always funny to hear Muslims commenting on slavery. Long before the triangle trade was ever thought of, Arab slavers were sending Black slaves as far away as China and Ireland. And since there were so many Black slaves in North Africa, why isn't the population darker? Because they castrated most of the men.

I'd like to correct a misconception, though. It was not the custom to castrate male slaves unless they were harem guards, a practice which long precedes Islam, or unless they were themselves being kept as concubines or singers, in which case they were gelded before puberty was established, but this latter practice was far more prevalent north of the Mediterranian, long before Islam, and in places where Islam was never established. Darius of Persia and Alexander the Great were both partial to such refreshments, and the Roman poet Juvenal advised parents to pray their sons would be ugly and gruff-voiced, so they would not meet with such a fate.
Jean d'Armagnac, whose uncle invented the brandy still, used to find those boys among his peasants who had pretty voices, take them from their parents, castrate them, and have them trained for choir, so they could add to his pleasure at table, bottle, and bed with their melodious singing. Bottle, it seems, was foremost. He wound up marrying his sister, but only because by that time, they had to.
