Atheists: Does it not take faith to deny the evidence that more than 1/3 of the world population?
...has presented to you?? More than 1/3 of the world population believe in God and has experienced His Spirit; does it not take faith to deny such a huge evidence?

So? About 1/4th of the world population believed in the Greco-Roman mythology at one point. But people came along, denied their "evidence," and replaced it with their own. Those people were called Christians.
Just because you're good at peddling bullshit doesn't mean you're right.
The fallacy of appeal to popularity is still a valid fallacy.
An overwhelming amount of Germans supported Hitler to, but I doubt you find many people wanting to turn a nazi just because it was so.
Something good happening to them, followed by claims of god, is not evidence. Dreams are not evidence. Believing in something is not evidence.
Call me when you've got something that I can experience, rather than rely on people telling me.
1/3 of world population may believe in God.
Yet *none* can express that faith in a manner that can be objectively tested.
Sounds like a simple matter to test if so many people believe in it, right? If it *isn't*, what do you think is causing it?
So out of that 1/3, who should I believe? The Mormons? JW's? Catholics? Baptists? And which of the sub-sects within those should I follow?
You'd think if the Christians were right, they'd be a lot more in step with each other.
"Atheists: Does it not take faith to deny the evidence that more than 1/3 of the world population?...has presented to you??"
What evidence?
"More than 1/3 of the world population believe in God..."
So?
"...and has experienced His Spirit..."
Yet cannot provide any evidence of this spirit other than their subjective, culturally biased opinions.
"...does it not take faith to deny such a huge evidence?"
Again, what evidence?
So, one third of the world has been proven to be pathologically insane.
What do you expect me to do about it?
Yeah? Some people also believe that humans were made out of dust and that two of every animal on the planet could fit onto one boat.
Spare me your stupidity. Opinions/beliefs =/= Evidence, dumbass.
Nope. No faith is required. Just observation and education. And a simple bit of arithmetic would reveal that, at least, two thirds of the people on Earth are quite certain that Christians are batscat crazy and/or just plain wrong.
Yeah, but WHICH GOD?!?!?!?!?!
Oh, right. YOUR god. My bad.
Nope, it does not. Yahoo Answers sure is convenient, huh? Unless you asked the question in bad faith thinking that Atheists' comfort with their position would waver in the face of such a difficult and unanswerable argument... ? Surely you didn't.
not more than a few centuries ago all of the worlds population didn't even know this earth thing is round. the blind ignorant masses believing in something stupid like so many lemmings has never been a good reason for me to believe anything.
yet another argument fallacy people felt needed it's own name.
also, only 1/3?
your outnumbered here. seems to me appealing to numbers when yours are lower doesn't even work anyway.
A hundred million flies can't be wrong - eat shit!
Stupid git. What is it to you whether I believe or don't believe? Whether I believe in Brahman, God, the Flying Spagetti Monster, Odin or myself?
Christians: Does it not take stubbornness to deny the evidence that more than 2/3 of the world's population has presented to you?? More than 2/3 of the world population doesn't believe in your god or his spirit; does it not take stubbornness to deny such huge evidence?
Really, you guys make this too easy sometimes.
One third of the population of the world has an imaginary friend in Jesus and you consider that to be evidence for God?
Let me guess, you also believe weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq, right?
Sing it with me (the concert was last night!):
"I wanna be the minority,
I don't need your authority!
Down with the moral majority,
'cos I wanna be the minority
Stepped out of the line,
like a sheep runs from the herd.
Marching out of time,
to my own beat now,
the only way i know.
One light, one mind
flashing in the dark,
blinded by silence of a thousand broken hearts,
"for cryin out loud" she screamed unto me
a free for all
fuck 'em all
You are your own sight"
1) You're counting the children to get this number
2) You're counting all denominations, including Mormons who none of the rest agree with. Most sects don't agree with the teachings or ceremonies
3) By you're own logic the Catholics must be the true Christianity as ot's the first, has the most members and has more to do with the modern ,most used Bibles
4) Most Christians don't regularly attend church, follow church edicts or really even believe. They do however call themselves (and their children) Christians when asked
Where's your evidence of one third come from? Bad caculating with fudging of the numbers and ignoring that you're not united
When I've broke this argument down like this before I usually get the whiny "we all believe in Christ" argument. No you all don't. Until the villianization of Atheism is removed we'll never know the real numbers.
Europe, being less inclined to be worried about being truthful when asked is probably closer then America or Canada polls.
Well, 80% of the world or more doesn't believe what you do. That explains it all, I guess, damn statistics.
this is one of the dumbest things ever.
does it not take willful ignorance to deny the evidence that more than 2/3 of the world population? ...has presented you?? More than 2/3 of the world population don't believe in your God...you get the gist. since when does 1/3 constitute a majority?
bloodletting used to be pretty popular and people swore by it, then we discovered something better, complete with logic even. i think this can draw an interesting parallel with religion vs. atheism. there were probably for sure people who didn't believe in bloodletting and were right all along
Yeah, here's the thing....
you haven't provided any evidence. You say things like, "the Bible's true cause it says it's true, and the Bible says it never lies, so it never lies", which is not evidence. Go on, bring that kind of thinking into a criminal or civil court case. See what the nice judge does to your case. That's right, it gets tossed. Circular logic is not evidence, and is easily defied by breaking the loop. Just because the Bible says it's the word of Gawd, does not mean it is the word of Gawd.
Confused?
