ATTENTION: You can say your RCC relatives were saved, your Mormon relatives were saved, etc. Your words and declarations don't mean one iota of anything when it comes to determining salvation. It seems to me that you are just here to promote all kinds of false and pagan religions like the RCC, Mormons, and Buddhists. You are are pretty much saying that it's OK if people practice all kinds of ungodly and satanic rituals as long as they believe in Jesus.
Christian cults take the basics of christianity and then they add the special "seasoning" to it to make it what they want it to be. The RCC adds "works" to grace. The Mormons believe in a a different Jesus and wear funky underwear. The Masons bow down to every pagan idol they can find and end up worshipping the devil. satan is behind every pagan religion.
The Bible says that even the demons believe, and they surely aren't saved. Stucky, you seem to be "stuck" in pagan nonsense and it appears that you are not able to face the fact that if your RCC wife did not believe in faith alone in Jesus Christ, then there is a chance she placed her faith elsewhere. And placing your faith in anything but the Lord Jesus Christ will earn one a swift ride to Hell. That's not judgment, that is the Word of God. where your wife is now is between her and the Lord. He knows her heart.
However, we will not be promoting cults and running around here saying that if you are involved in them that is fine and dandy. so far, you have said your relatives involved in false, pagan, and ungodly religious cults are all saved, etc. This is basically refuting the Bible. We won't have anymore of that here.

"Your words and declarations don't mean one iota of anything when it comes to determining salvation."
Neither do yours, moron.
BTW, you don't have an iota of something.
Let me get this straight.
If I go running around all day long screaming "I LOVE JESUS," but am a total dick to the rest of the world, I'm saved, BUT if I keep my beliefs to myself and try to be the best possible human being I can be, I go to hell?
I'll take Option B for $200 please, Alex.
So exactly what's wrong with adding good works to faith? If you read the gospels of the bible, Jesus clearly states to do good to other people, especially those less fortunate.
Too bad the RR crowd thinks that all you have to do is claim Jesus as your savior and then you can be shitty to anyone you want.
Of course, there's no afterlife so no heaven or hell, so it's all bogus anyway. But if I believed in any of it, I'd have to go with faith and good works to get to heaven.
Can someone please explain this to me? How does this make sense?
A. The only thing needed for salvation is faith. If you have faith, you will be saved.
B. Faith and good works is not as good as faith? Faith and anything else is not as good as faith? What happened to being saved as long as you ave faith?
Seems to me the faith plus good works is better than faith alone. The Catholics say "Believe, and don't be a dick", while you say "Believe, and if you're a complete asshole, you're still saved".
I've heard a lot of catholic hating bullshit from the fundies over the years. I've also had the benefit of spending part of my childhood in the catholic church and in CCD, so I know what I'm talking about.
Do you, Chris? If I were to ask you to tell me the basic beliefs and practices of the catholic church, could you? I most sincerely doubt it.
The only thing that would spout forth from your poisoned well of a mouth would be lies about ritual, misconceptions about basic tenets and degradation of Mary, who is due infinitely more reverence than your sorry ass.
Every time I have to explain the difference between showing respect and reverence to Mary (she's the Mother of your God, remember?)and worshiping her (which catholics don't do, by the way), I feel as if my brain is dangerously close to sliding out of my ear.
If you want to hold onto your ridiculous and pathetic bias against the group that compiled your bible, so be it. But at least have the good sense to read The Catechism so you can be a bigoted asswipe in a more informed way.

"The Mormons believe in a different Jesus..."
There's more than one?!?
There's the hippie peacenik troublemaker one that I always heard of, back in the day, and the new scary republican one who's coming "soon" to kick all our asses and make everybody go to hell. You know, the one who loves us the most.
There's so much worth criticizing the Catholic Church for, and you always insist on fighting their sensible rule that if you're going to walk around calling yourself a Christian without acting like one and obeying Jesus' commandment and the Beatitudes, you're not really a Christian.
Oh, right, but then you wouldn't get to be so very extra special!
A rapturite accusing someone else of being in a 'cult'.
1) You are all cults, as are sports fans and Hanna Montana fans.
2) Your cult is completely made up and has attached itself to Christianity. Most Christians don't believe in the Rapture as it's not even in the Bible.
3) Every cult massacre has had an alternative belief of end-time coming soon. Most were built upon Christian roots
Christian cults take the basics of christianity and then they add the special "seasoning" to it to make it what they want it to be.
Like the Rapture.
The RCC adds "works" to grace.
Matthew 25:31-46 says you can't go to heaven unless you do good to the poor. It's in every Bible, not just the versions most Catholics use. What actually happened is that fundies took works away. Basically, they think you can believe Jesus is the most important being in the universe while simultaneously doing the exact opposite of what he told you to do.
The Mormons believe in a different Jesus and wear funky underwear.
A different Jesus? There are two of him now?
The Masons bow down to every pagan idol they can find and end up worshipping the devil.
The Freemasons are Christian. They do not worship idols because NOBODY worships idols. An idol or statue is a SYMBOL. If you mistake the symbol for the thing it represents, you're an idiot, plain and simple.
satan is behind every pagan religion.
I'd love to see you say that to a group of Pagans in person. Mainly to watch them laugh in your face. I know I would. Hell, I'm already laughing now.
"Christian cults take the basics of christianity and then they add the special "seasoning" to it to make it what they want it to be."
Just like that schmuck Martin Luther did back in 1517, when he defiled a church with his pagan ideas that you should not be able to buy your way into heaven.
And just like the schmuck traitors did back around 200 AD when they started to worship some guy who said he was the son of God.
How far back should we go to get the "season"-free religion? 10 000 years? 50 000? 200 000?
If you say we should go back to the begining of Genesis, then we should all revert to Judaism. You can't have it both ways - going back to Genesis AND keep the seasoning from 200 and 1517 AD.
Yeah, well, seeing as Christianity started out as a cult branch of Judaism, you're treading pretty thin ice there, Chris.
We won't have anymore of that here.
La de da, let's all put cotton wool in our ears and refuse to hear or debate any ideas besides our own...
Because if you actually listened for a fraction of a second to some logical reasoning or even, say, some Biblical quotes that disagree with you, you might actually have to rethink that arrogant elitist attitude you RR idiots cling to so desperately! And we couldn't have that, could we?
Sheesh. I just read the rest of that thread. I didn't realise the poor guy's wife had actually died! Hideous enough that they'd condemn her if she was still alive, but she isn't! And Chris actually has the gall to use the phrase 'swift ride to Hell'... *shakes head*
Then he banned the guy for wanting to have a sensible debate and not just parrot their crap back to them. Unbelievable.
These people are the epitome of sanctimonious arrogance. Horrible.
Because your relatives and friends are being tortured by Jesus right now no matter what you say..so you better come over to OUR way of worshipping Jesus ro you too will burn...
..spoken like a true worshipper of the Lord of Hell, Christ Jesus.
You are are pretty much saying that it's OK if people practice all kinds of ungodly and satanic rituals as long as they believe in Jesus.
No, that's what *you're* saying. You people are the ones who say "faith in grace, not works." The meaning of that term *as you have defined it* is that as long as you believe in Jesus and accept him as one's savior, it's all right to do whatever you want - even ungodly and satanic rituals - and still go to Heaven.
Can't have it both ways, you know.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
