the problem with everyone on this earth is they think too much. Before Satan came into this world our ability to know knowledge and think was not needed because we could feel God. The more people "think" the more they turn away from God. Think about it, it's true. Satan gave us the power to think about the world around us. The more we think, the more we turn to him. Atheists anyone? Am I the only one in the world who realizes this?

Hmm...I've never actually heard this argument in support of religion before. Seen it in practice, yes; heard a fundie say it, no.
It sure does explain a lot, if this is a prevalent idea, though. I mean, here I just thought most fundies were allergic to thinking.
the problem with everyone on this earth is they think too much.
Actually the problem is that fundies don't think enough.
Before Satan came into this world our ability to know knowledge and think was not needed because we could feel God.
There is no god or satan, so your sentence is worthless.
The more people "think" the more they turn away from God.
I hope that one day you realize how that statement kills your argument.
Think about it, it's true.
Do you enjoy killing your argument?
Satan gave us the power to think about the world around us.
Then why do you worship god, when you make satan sound like a better person to worship.
The more we think, the more we turn to him. Atheists anyone?
For the millionth and hopefully last time, atheists don't worship satan!
Am I the only one in the world who realizes this?
Only someone as braindead as you would realize that.
The more people "think" the more they turn away from God. Think about it
BWAHAAHAAAHAAAHAAA!!
"the problem with everyone on this Earth is they thing too much."
Fundementalism in a Nutshell Award Candidate
"Think about it, it's true."
But you just said thinking was bad.
"Satan gave us the power to think about the world around us."
Maybe you didn't get too far into the Bible before you stopped reading but near the end of the first chapter of Genesis in clearly states God created people not Satan.
Least Informed About Their Own Religion Nominee?
the problem with everyone on this earth is they think too much. If only!
And the more they think, the more internet and computers you get, without which you couldn´t type this. Ironic, isn´t it?
Well, god took away our fangs, claws, tails, strength, speed, thick fur,...
he gave us brains in exchange.
Am I the only one in the world who realizes this?
Dude, you think too much.
That is what the whole Garden of Eden story is about, after all. "God lied, Eve. Your eyes will be opened and you will know good from evil," said the serpent and that's what happened.
"You have the capacity of a six year old." - Redhunter
Hell, my two kids could out think this dumbass by the time they were four!
If this isn't a prime "Fundamentalism in a Nutshell" candidate, I don't know what is.
The more people "think" the more they turn away from God.
Because people realize that the world and everything in it, including themselves, is governed by natural laws, which makes the concept of a supernatural deity increasingly irrelevant to the human experience. What possible use is a being who can break all known natural laws, but will do so only according to His arbitrary whim, to a being who is bound by the operation of those laws and who can't get the supernatural being's attention with any reliability whatsoever?
At least that's what happened to me.
"the problem with everyone on this earth is they think too much. ... Think about it, it's true.
Unintentional irony award, maybe?
Since the 'Think about it, it's true.' thing has already been commented on (though it is really funny) I'll go with this:-
ATHEISTS. ARE. BY DEFINITION. NOT. SATANISTS.
Now that's some really fucking stoopid thinking.
Imagine: all industrial and scientific achievements exist because satan gave us the power to think about the world around us.
If that's true I think I'll worship Satan - lots better than that creepo mythical construct who makes fictional decisions on a completely arbitrary basis.
Stoopid Gabor Smith. Stoopid.
Well, if Satan were real and gave us the ability to think and prevent us from being ignorant fucks, wouldn't that make him a better guy to follow than some god who wants us to be prisoners to the ignorance he gave us?
Only a fundy could find the concept of being able to think for oneself to be Satanic. The ability to understand abstract thought is the defining characteristic of what makes us human. To deny this is to deny that (assuming you believe in a Creator) the Creator intended us to be able to do this.
But fundamentalism has never been about logic, has it?
I agree, some people think too much ... but some people do not think at all. Think about it, it's true.
Which is more extreme?
Which has more potential for good?
Other than that, Rene Descartes summed it up nicely.
"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with senses, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use and by some other means to give us knowledge which we can attain by them."
Galileo Galilei.
"Before Satan came into this world........." but wasn't god supposed to have created satan? Can it be *gasps* that god created the very thing that turns people away from him? Oh and btw,,, just as atheists don't believe god exists, they don't believe satan exists, either.
"The more people "think" the more they turn away from God. Think about it, it's true."
There is no way this guy is serious. No fucking way.
Yeah, Martin Luther, Thomas Aquinas, Karl Linneaus, Isaac Newton, they were people of faith and never did any thinking
After reading this, I think he's saying that God did make us mindless, butt-kissers, but Satan ,by deceiving Eve in the garden of eden, gave us independent thought.
At least I think that's what he's saying.
This quote was so close to being pure gold, describing exactly why Religion is BS. Alas, the amount of fal in this post was too high, and my irony meter seems to have exploded. Pardon me as I go out and shop for a new one...
I have no idea what the various kinds of apes think about "god". But evolution gave people larger brains, although there are a lot of people in the Bible Belt who haven't yet passed their thinking test, and just carry that lump of brain around with them until they can get a license to drive it.
Confused?
