The media is disgusting. I hope Trump has every editor arrested and put on trial for being traitors to the United States if he wins. Then give them life in prison.

A good example for the one's taking over what can happen when you cease reporting on politics and try to control politics.

No doubt "PullMyFinger" loves the US Constitution and like so many "patriots" that proclaim to, explicitly contradict what lies within it.

His next comment is one I like as it demonstrates the cluelessness of a situation that probably extends to a lot of the folks it directly affects.

The problem that coal is dead already and it's not due so much to regulations as it is the simple fact that natural gas (mostly because of fracking) has made it a crap ROI for investors. When you can pipe gas more cheaply and it's a cleaner fuel to burn than it is to dig the more expensive and dangerous coal out of the ground (all the easy to reach less expensive coal is gone now) and then have to ship it (expensively) all over the place by rail nobody is going to invest in or consume it.

The only thing coal is good for in this country anymore is to feed power generation stations and those are dying for the same reason let alone they pollute the shit out of everything around them easily tenfold compared to other generation sources. Coal is filthy and destructive on multiple levels and it needs to go anyway. The coal industry will still linger but not even if the steel industry were rebuilt in this country can it be saved. Coal is dead and those "coal families" are going to have to find a new way forward same as the "buggy-whip and covered wagon families" did when their industry died. Trump boasting and lying about "we'll make coal great again" won't do anything in reality but have those families voting for him over lies. Which is par for the course.

I'm no fan of Clinton, but at least in this case she isn't deceiving those people that she can wave a wand and make things all better for them specifically for votes. "PullMyFinger" seems to want to frame this as some sort of flaw because she spoke basically truthfully about it. I guess that's fine if one wants to simply pick the person for the top job in the US by who lies better.

(edit- giving a little more thought, if the US really did make a full court press to rebuild infrastructure, and everything was sourced here, coal might enjoy a slight reprieve but I still don't see that happening. With the parties the way they are there is no viable path.)

The ghost of Hunter S. Thompson emerges from the mists of time and space to tell you that you can't report on politics honestly or with any rigor and not try to control them in some way. At best, you control it in a way you and the people around you can be comfortable with.

At worst, well, Trump gets to be a candidate.

Also, I second correctional facilities for people with bad grammar. We even have the perfect locations, they're called "high schools".

@creativerealms Trump is not a threat to free speech. He's spoken against libel but libel has never been protected by the 1st amendment anyway.

Proving libel however - very very difficult to do, you can't just prove it's a lie you have to prove it was a malicious lie as well.

If Trump should publicly denounce his racist supporters, then Bernie should denounce his communist supporters. I know for a fact that many communists support him. And yes he's not in the race anymore, but he didn't do it back then either.

Also communism is measurably worse than racism. Apart from the slavery era, blacks still lived a better life even in racist segregated pre-60's America than they would have under communist Russia or Cuba or eastern European countries etc.

I would be far more worried if communists were coming out in favor of me, waving their commie hammer and sickle flags to intimidate Trump rallies, than if racists were.

And you know this how? You're clearly not black, or communist or any of the other things you listed (or your distorted idea of them) so where's your proof that any of this nonsense is true? Put up or shut up.

And Trump is being called to account for his supporters behavior because he encourages it. When Bernie's communists start beating people up, then talk. You do have a point about Bernie and Hillary not discouraging their extremists, but they are aren't enabling them either.

On topic: PullMyFinger? First Amendment. But you've probably only know about the religious freedom part of that, right?

Trump wants to silence everyone who says bad things about him even if those bad things are true. That by its very nature is being against free speech. And libal is just an excuse as he has no problem saying crap about other people.

When we have recordings and video of the terrible things someone says and does and then claims he or she does them that is proof.

I think the hate speech ban is something both sides are trying to do. Neither is innocent.

Trump and the Republicans want to silence people who say bad things about them while giving their supporters the right to say bad things about everyone else. They want it to be okay to come mn someone to hell and release the private information about costomers but not make it okay to point out the sexist actions of someone. That is fighting against free speech.

The democrats want to do the same but its funny I don't hear democratic supporters and left wing news radio personalities saying that if the Republicans win they will be shut down and disappear. This fear seems to be a right wing one yet at the same time you also don't hear about left wing supporters talking about shutting down the other side nearly as much. Its seems to me that the right fears the center and the left want to do to they what they want to do first.

When have I defended Hillary? I think her and Trump are the same. Whoever wins we lose. Just as a centrist I see Hallary causing less problems then Trump, she will at least follow the rules because she understands them. That is why Trump scares me more.

Trump does not have to answer for his crazy supporters if that's all they are. This is not limited to just a handful of his supporters like the Bernie Bros. Thing is some of his crazy supporters are his top people.

That if s not some random Trump supporter. That's the woman hired by the trump campaign to lead African American outreach. She's talking about the role of president like that of a king or god, that a president can't be spoken against and whole opponents will bow down to him or else.

What's funny is before Obama was elected that is the same thing the right feared he would do, that people would be forced to bow down to him or they would vanish or be arrested. Yet that never happened. In my thirty years I actually never saw a president as openly critizied as Obama.

Not to mention that fascism doesn't need racism (original-style Italian fascism wasn't particularly racist to begin with, and only picked it up inasmuch as they needed to buddy up to Hitler). What it needs is enemies, and racial prejudice can make them in a hurry, but it's as characteristic of the movement as, say, military nationalism, which was their whole shtick. And whether Stalinism had anything to do with communism is a point I wouldn't want to get, say, Leon Trotsky started on.

That’s because Bonespurs never really disavows HIS crazies. Or if he does, then he sees that it didn’t fix his poll numbers and reverses himself the next day. So, yeah. Lay down with dogs, get up with fascists.

It’s looking like Bonespurs stole nuclear secrets and may have revealed them to another country. There’s absolutely NO WAY that could ever be a good thing. Even if it’s to an ally, it reveals our intelligence efforts, or our failures, which hurts national security. OR it reveals damaging facts to an enemy. If India Got Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities, it could even lead to a nuclear war.
So, if you think ‘reporting the truth’ or ‘quoting Trump’ is treason, you must be going out of your fucking mind over what Trump’s done.
You don’t believe it’s real, you think it was planted. Just wait. When Trump’s ass is finally on the line, he’s going to sing, long and loud, and name names, point fingers, reveal conspiracies.
