-If that's true then the Bible is every bit as guilty (in addition to promoting institutionalized rape, theft and more). I mean the old testament can't go five pages without god either killing or ordering his people to kill and loot some innocent tribe or city whose only "crime" against his brain-dead chosen people was to be more successful than they were. The OT is pretty much the story of several generations of a clan of half-witted brigands stealing, raping and killing their way back and forth across the land until their god figured out how to establish a permanent settlement like all their neighbors had millenia prior.

No, seriously: I remember the case from the news a few years back. In particular how it made the US seem like a godawful backward country disconnected from reality. Sometimes you have to accept the fact that someone is gone, and let go. Yes, we can pretty much keep the body functioning indefinitely now, given the right circumstances. Doesn't mean we always should and this was a clear (and tragic) case where it was definitely time to let go and move on.
What I meant was that this strikes me as the odd-one out, you know, among the 50 million pre-infants, the 100 thousand Iraqis (most of them muslims, one has to wonder if this registered with the OP and whether it makes a difference to him) and the promotion of mass violence.
As for killing Jesus Christ, are you telling me that <strike>people</strike>christians have been going after the Jews for the past millenia while they should have been going after the present-day US?

Terry Schiavo killed herself, by having an eating disorder brought on by a desire to have a "perfect" body. This resulted in a heart attack that cut off the oxygen to her brain; which in turn made her into a fucking vegetable. She and her husband had an agreement regarding end-of-life, and he rightly made sure to live up to his end by seeing her suffering stop.
Um Dave, presuming Jesus lived, he was killed about 1800 years before America was a nation. Not to mention, the guy rose from the dead for god's sake. I mean co'mon, even your own bible says that you dork.
