Governor Chris Christie is making a fool of himself by banning gay conversion therapy because he is being played by the gay lobby. His statement that homosexuality is not a sin flies in the face of God's Word - the Bible - as well as Catholic theology. Christie's statement that those who engage in homosexual behavior are genetically disposed to do so is not supported by scientific proof, much like the global warming hoax.
I think its obvious that the rotund New Jersey governor is paving the way for a run at the 2016 Republican presidential nomination and he knows that the RNC honchos will only boost a Republican that basically mimics liberal Democrat positions with a few small deviations, for show. Now Christie has shown that he is easily manipulated by the left, caters to those who despise traditional values and, to put it in the kindest terms, is no friend of conservatives. Another former GOP 'star' bites the dust, right along with Marco 'amnesty' Rubio.

It's time the GOP stopped giving a shit about you, Jim Scott. Your vote is guaranteed, simply because you aren't going to vote for some atheist traitor commie Democrat. How much more pandering do you need before you allow the sane people to realize it's costing them elections? They finally got it that you simply alienate everyone else.
"His statement that homosexuality is not a sin flies in the face of God's Word - the Bible - as well as Catholic theology."
But if a muslim said "the statement that bacon eating is a not sin flies in the face of Allahs Word - the Koran - as well as Shiite theology" you would be red faced and screaming about sharia.
"Governor Chris Christie is making a fool of himself by banning gay conversion therapy because he is being played by the gay lobby"
Really? Fool he may be to you , but he values his political career .
Can you say 'Todd Akin'? 'Richard Mourdock'? Mitt Romney ?
Christie does, and all too well. He knows that it's all about Demographics .
It's the only possible way the Repubicans can prevent themselves being left out in the political - and electoral - wilderness for generations to come. Just ask Nick Clegg, leader of the UK's Liberal Democrats - now Deputy Prime Minister - about they being a political irrelevance for over 80 years.
You want to become a political irrelevance (just ask Faux News & Rush Limburger, post-late last year), Freepers, far be it from me to stop you. Oh, but then...:
'The GOP is dead '
-Pat Buchanan
...you already are .
You don't really think that Christie gives a shit what you think, do you Jim? He has a state to run; a crowded one at that.
I'm glad that he signed that law; it's one more step in the right direction & one more sign that headcases like you are fading into oblivion.
Besides, Christie could just sit on you.
Doesn't all this butthurt over Governor Christie go back to him working with the President on disaster relief after the hurricane? All that tells me is he's willing to put aside party politics when lives are at stake. Banning gay conversion "therapy" is just another mark in his favor, I'd think.
Pushing out it's more level-headed members isn't a good long-term strategy for the GOP...

By "bites the dust" I hope you mean "leaves the GOP and forms a more moderate party". That way you can have your purity and we can have a reasonable candidate not bogged down by the Republican party. Everyone wins...well, except for whatever theocrat you want to run for the GOP, that guy will lose by a landslide.
The scary thing about Chris Christie is that he uses things like this to lead people to believe he's a reasonable Republican when in fact, he is a hard, right-wing bully. This is one of the few reasonable positions he has.
He opposes abortion rights and gay marriage, has refused to make required contributions to his state's employee pension funds, and has raped NJ public schools of funding while sending his own kids to expensive private schools and bullying parents who dared to complain at Town Hall meetings, among other things.
Christie's statement that those who engage in homosexual behavior are genetically disposed to do so is not supported by scientific proof, much like the global warming hoax.
Both are supported by conclusive scientific proof, claiming otherwise is just a lie. Now, Christie is still a hard-right, bullying prick but he's actually right on this one.
Or perhaps he just follows his own conscience sometimes and doesn't always tow the party line.
I love how Jim Scott demands scientific "proof" that there is a genetic component to homosexuality yet offers none that the bible is gods word.
What the fuck is wrong with these people???
Christie's statement that those who engage in homosexual behavior are genetically disposed to do so is not supported by scientific proof
That is true... but actually BEING Homosexual? That's a completely different kettle of fish.
Of course, only a complete fucking moron would think that simply not fucking someone of the same sex is the same thing as no longer having any attraction for people of the same sex... and those are the people who think conversion therapy works...
He's banning gay conversion therapy because it works even worse than homeopathy. There are so many sins that you don't bother yourself with at all. It's strange that the one you do care about is something that is barely mentioned in the Bible, but something that you personally find icky. That it says again and again that you should love thy neighbor is of no consequence to you.
That homosexuals are born like that, whether due to genetics or something else, IS supported by scientific proof, much like global warming, which is definitely not a hoax.
What the heck does it matter how the Governor looks? Better be a bit rotund and ugly on the outside, than despicable and ugly on the inside, like you.
Liberals are only "the left" because the only other party is even more to the right. Both of them are definitely right-wing parties.
"Governor Chris Christie is making a fool of himself by banning gay conversion therapy"
Well, no more so as when they banned bogus cancer cures, fake HIV treatments, unmodified ECT and so on. BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK!
Parents force kids to take this crap in the hope the kid won't have to face the kind of hate regularly spewed on, well, Free Republic. It doesn't work, of course, any more than there is a treatment for hetrosexuality, and another kid is left feeling like crap.
I'm not a big fan of the Governor, but at least in this case he did the right thing.
Say, Jim, if the Bible is God's word, why has it produced 3,000 years of bitter disagreements?
he is being played by the gay lobby
How? Do you think gays are lobbying the governor's office and contributing massive amounts to his re-election? Or is "being played by the gay lobby" just your fancy way of saying "representing the majority of the people of NJ"?
His statement that homosexuality is not a sin flies in the face of God's Word - the Bible - as well as Catholic theology.
Tell your little pussy of a god to come down here and do something about it if he doesn't like it.
His statement that homosexuality is not a sin flies in the face of God's Word - the Bible - as well as Catholic theology
No, Catholic theology does say that homosexuality is not a sin, but homosexual behavior is. Not much comfort, but from a Catholic standpoint Jim Scott might be seen as hating the sinner and not just the sin. Well, color me speechless.
As I have said before, you assholes should be making sweet, political love to Chris Christie right now, because he is your one and only chance right now of getting the GOP back in the White House. He doesn't play standard politics and many democrats respect him. Maybe you should think about that before you try to throw your non-fuckwit brother under the bus.
Confused?
