He still violated his probation. So even if Obama had that goal, the arrest is still legitimate.
It simply doesn't matter what religion Obama has - or Romney for that matter - even if Obama was a Muslim, his opinions and policies matter. For all I care he can pray to Mecca in the Oval Office, if he agrees with what I believe and with what I think are the solutions, I would - if I could - vote for him. The fact that his religion or where he grew up even mattes to you, makes you an intollerant bigot. And yes, the same thing goes for African Americans that only vote for him because he's black.

Nah. W just had hundreds of Muslims thrown in jail for being Muslim, invaded a country because, basically, his advisors wanted to, lied to the US people and the world in general on many occasions, generally mishandled everything that was sent his way, pushed policies that directly caused the worst economic meltdown the world had seen since 1929 (and possibly worse than that) and will most probably be regarded as the worst US president in history.

Looks like we have an Alliance spy in our midst ... River, kill him with your brain.

Filin De Blanc
So what you're saying is that because he made an offensive film about Islam, the authorities should have ignored his probation violations?

There's no reasoning with some folks. But they know as well as the rest of us, that the local judge had this guy thrown into jail for violating his probation. Obama had nothing to do with it.

I don't think Bush had a gestapo state. His hatred and evilness was mostly focused outwards. Or he did what I assume and he focused the eyes of the American public outwards to ignore what was happening inward. There was a (Small in comparison to the latter one) recession coming in 2001 and lasted until 2003-2004. He might have not been re-elected without a fresh war to have the 'rally round the flag' attitude to get behind.

AAAAA!!!!! NO!!! Not Firefly fandom too! Bad enough how the Naruto forums got a while ago. Is nothing fucking sacred anymore?!
10/24/2012 8:24:55 AM
Quite. I mean, if this person is a Firefly fan, does he/she realize that the protagonists are liberal?
10/24/2012 10:26:53 AM
Of course W got us into a war under false pretenses. A war in which thousands of innocent persons were killed and maimed.

Bush pushed through the Patriot Act, which allows for the collection of every email we send and the collection of our library records. He pushed to get around the three day limit on domestic wiretapping without a warrant.
He also used our security agencies to spy on anti-war groups and prominent journalists whose activites and reporting did not favor him politically, under the guise of "national security".
That may not be a Gestapo state, but it's damn close. It most certainly is NOT an "outward" focus.

Just a guess here, but I bet a U. S. president doesn't have much time to evaluate harebrained video makers.
10/24/2012 3:03:47 PM
Didn't people make those claims about Bush due to the patriot act being reinstated?

Dude, Dubya had the Secret Service detain a grade schooler that blogged "they hung the wrong man" when Saddam Hussein was executed. It was international news.
For the record: She meant it was Osama bin Laden that needed a hug from a noose, not the then-President.
Every time the O stands up for someone's rights guys like you act like they're suddenly the favorites. He's looking out for white, middle class, Christian, Republicans too but you don't hear a lot of bitching about that.

The guy was on probation, probation was violated. Hardly requires a direct order from the president to have him arrested.
Occam's razor mate.
