Quote# 88221

[emphasis added]

I look at the "women's talk shows" for instance, and it's like, are any of them straight? Doubtful, I think. Yet the media has them in positions where they are supposed to earn our trust, loyalty, and affection. Then they come "out" and we're still supposed to love them.

Well, dammit, don't blame a bunch of women who don't even know you if you were all ready for Rapture and they wouldn't participate in your Acts. And no, you weren't supposed to love them.

I look at the 'fundie sites'; Ruptured Retards for instance, and it's as if, are any of them Christian? Doubtful, I think. Yet, politics has them in positions where they are supposed to earn our trust, loyalty and affection.

Then they come out with the "Turn or Burn" & Leviticus-fuelled intolerance of LGBT people bullshit, and they themselves expect to be tolerated?

Just because a woman doesn't roll over to your misogynist crap doesn't make her gay.

Then they come "out" and we're still supposed to love them.

'Cause, ya know, that's what Jesus said we're to do.

If they came out on stage firing an assault rifle into the air would you trust them?

Yet you idiots do exactly that to your own "talk shows".

Actually, whenever a celebrity comes out, I think the best response would be to yawn and say, "Yeah, so?" Personally I find the sexual orientation of any given celebrity (straight, gay, bi, trans) to be one of the most boring aspects of their lives.

Who cares? Being a man who works during the day, I never watch women's talk shows, and even if I did I wouldn't care what their sexuality is because it doesn't affect my life one way or the other.

You are not a completely different person after revealing a secret as you were when you were keeping that secret. You've still got the same personality, just....you know, one less secret.

Whether you're a man or a woman, odds are, none of the alleged celebs on the talk shows will ever sleep with you anyway, so what's your problem? We have children going hungry in a country that's suffering from an "epidemic of obesity", and this is what you choose to worry about?

As they are on TV, and you will probably never meet them, let alone get to know them well enough to get into bed together; what the hell does it matter what sexual orientation they are/have?

No, you're not supposed to love them, you are supposed to be entertained by them. That is all. You don't have to trust them; I don't trust half of what american talk show hosts say, but I can still laugh at what they are saying. I'm certainly not "loyal" to them, why would I be? They don't even know that I exist.

As fellow human beings on this Earth, I hope they have a fairy good life, as long as they treat others as they want to be treated.

What fundies said in 1955:

I listen to the "talk radio" shows, for instance, and I wonder, are any of them white? Doubtful, I think. They don't sound like they'd be white. Yet the media have them in positions where they're supposed to earn our trust, our loyalty and our affection. Then they appear on these newfangled television programs, are confirmed to be Negroes, and we are still expected to love them?

So, women aren't supposed to coordinate talk shows, because I guess "real Christian women" wouldn't dream of inhabiting a world outside their kitchens; and then when somebody does come out as gay or lesbian, then they're no longer worthy of being loved. That seems to be the gist of what you're saying. So much for "love the sinner, hate the sin," I guess.

Well, no, you're not "supposed" to still "love" them, but if you don't, you're a bigoted jackass unless you already didn't like them or their shows for some other reason before they came out.

I don't watch much daytime TV, but it seems to me that Ellen and Anderson pretty much have the classiest talk shows on television now—but their competition is, what, Maury and Jerry Springer? It doesn't take much to be more highbrow than that. Either way, Ellen and Anderson both being gay is nothing but a coincidence.

According to your holy Jesus, yes you are. You are supposed to love your neighbors as yourself as he pointed out that was one of the two most important commandments. You're just looking for excuses to hate people who are gay because you have fantastic dreams about what to do with a cock.

I know right. It's just like when that crazy hippie Jesus told his followers to love their neighbor. What a load of crap. </sarcasm>
I doubt that many of those women are gay, and even if they are it doesn't matter. If you like them any less because they are gay then that's your problem.

If you fall for the media's tricks, it's your own goddam fault.

You know all those "buy two, get one free" ads? I bet you really believe you're getting one for free.

Go figure.

So much for "love the sinner, hate the sin". It amazes me that these people not only believe in the Rapture, but actually think the first ones chosen by God will be a bunch of selfish, right-wing, judgmental, holier-than-thou, hate-filled bigots simply because they read the Bible and accept Jesus as their personal savior - sorry - "saviour" - mustn't change the holy seven letters into the Satanic six ...
