'Regionalization'
I know it's an old joke, but...
"You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

"Not really clear why this was missed in the regionalization with over 80% of Americans believing in God, and not goddesses. Maybe Nintendo is targeting that less than 20% only with Kid Icarus Uprising."
If you don't understand how fiction works, perhaps you shouldn't be trying to review games.
"The spiritual aspects of Kid Icarus Uprising are what bother me the most."
I hope you mean the fact that there aren't any.
"I expected the violence. I did not expect all the goddess religious teachings."
Religious teachings? Really now, be serious.
"Nor did I expect all the idol content."
I doubt seriously the game asks you to bow down and worship it or its content.
"I already mentioned the lack of regionalization in this area."
It was regionalized by recording it into English and giving it English text. Regonalization does not mean that they change goddesses to the Christian god and redesign the entire game to pander to stupid fuckers like yourself.
"There are so many creative ways this could have been handled for the American audience. She could have been an arch-angel fighting off demons."
Which would have been a different game, jackass.
"It is my hope and prayer that Nintendo regionalizes the religious content in future games."
Good luck with that one.

From wikipedia: Regionalization is the tendency to form regions, or the process of doing so.
The word you are looking for is localization.
Also, you are an idiot.

The Duelist
Christians, in general, are weak-minded fools. There is simply no way around it. One wonders why their faith is so weak and frail that even a fictional goddess, and not even a real object of worship in the real world at that, makes them tremble and protest. Weak. And BTW, gods are not real, but if they were, Odin would rip the christian god a new asshole with his spear.

Dear Paul,
Gaming is for losers. People with real lives don't game.
Bitching about games is for total losers.
Expecting religion to be reflected in games and bitching about it is for absolutely, totally, and utterly hopeless losers.
Get a life.

Because Nintendo appreciates the difference between fact anf fiction, unlike you, who can't even recognize that the Goddess characters in the game aren't even acting out their original myths. Also, they're figures in a video game, dumbfuck.
Is there nothing that doesn't offend you people? Do you seriously look at literally everything through a filter designed to infect each and every situation with your supercicilous, sanctimonious sensibilities? Can you never allow yourselves to enjoy something simply for the sake of enjoying it, without infecting it with your ridiculous dogma or finding a reason to be self-righteously appalled by it?
It must truly suck to be you, and not be allowed to appreciate or take pleasure from anything.

So all it takes for you to call the game bad for Christians is a background mythology in a fighting game? Pretty pathetic mate. Your own religion can not stand up to a fictional back story.
@ checkmate: As both a pen and paper gamer and a casual video gamer, please put your 'gamers got no life' bull back on the shelf where it belongs. Lest you are trying to troll, then by all means continue to be a dumbass.

Guess what?
God is everywhere.
God created everything.
Therefore, everything God created, God created inside God...
But internal creation is a feminine trait.

"Waaaah! They're portraying fantasies other than my own!"
@KittyKaboom:
Christian fundies believe that EVERYTHING has to give praise to, or at least be about God or else it's totally evil. That's why they freak out when TV shows, movies, music, or video games are about something other than worshiping God.

Fundies with no imagination like this are the reason Nintendo used to ruthlessly excise any religious symbols and plot overtones from their games and games they approved from other publishers. On top of that, the original Kid Icarus made it through with the same plot background when they were still doing it. So obviously Nintendo doesn't see it as a problem.

Actually, considering America's large Christian majority, it's pretty clear that absolutely fucking nobody is offended by this sort of thing, minus a few fundies. If Christians didn't want to play games with fictional goddesses, the game industry wouldn't release them in America.

....Goddess teachings?!
Clearly, this moron hasn't been paying attention. Not only are the deities in video games obviously-fictional enough to keep kids from getting confused, but video games are made in Japan, and Kid Icarus's aesthetic style is more Greco-Roman than it is in any way Christian.
Oh, and by the way, it's a game, not a textbook.

I dunno, he could be bang-on about it being a threat to Christianity. I'd certainly take Palutena-worship or Viridi-worship over Yahweh any day of the week, even considering the latter's mild genocidal tendencies.
"It is my hope and prayer that Nintendo regionalizes the religious content in future games."
I can just see it.

Because even thinking that the divine could be female is wrong. Not that it really matter since, like God, those goddesses are fictitious.
