Quote# 88191

As an employer, we’re going to be forced to chip into this ungodly health care system and we are not going to pay. I am going on the record; we will not send the federal government a dime. Now, if they send the IRS on us then it’s not a health care issue then it’s simply a failure to pay our tax, as John Roberts said, this is now a tax. Well, what did we have a revolution for: taxation without representation. We went to war and real Christians picked up real guns and defeated a real army. I’m not calling for an insurrection or to take up guns but I’m saying that they thought it was so serious that they pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to have a land that we live in, which is three greatest experiment in human liberty based on Christian principles the world has ever known, and all of that is at stake.

You know we always get surprised at what happened in Nazi Germany and we say, ‘if I had been there I wouldn’t do that,’ or we think back and think, ‘that was sixty or seventy years ago, how could that have happened, that was all in the past, all that draconian, totalitarian, socialist actions were in the past.’ Here we have a decision, a landmark ruling which will go down in history and every single person listening to this radio program was alive and experienced this day like we did 9/11. The question is, what will our response be?

The courts are not the answer. There’s checks and balances in this country and there is no check and there is no balance. We are all moving down the road toward complete annihilation. Some people want to go at 100 MPH and some people want to go at 30 or 40 or 50 MPH, but I think this is a wakeup call. The entire Supreme Court should be impeached, the entire Congress should be impeached, we should replace the president in November.

we are not going to pay. I am going on the record; we will not send the federal government a dime.

I give him three months. After that he'll be going along with it just like with everything else.

I was in Europe when the Euro cash replaced the local currencies. I remember people bitching about how they'd "never" use it and would stick to the old coins and paper money "forever", blah, blah, blah. That took about three days to disappear.

Euro: "never" = three days
Obamacare: "never" = three months.

The courts are not the answer. There’s checks and balances in this country and there is no check and there is no balance.

Err, congress passed the bill in a normal fashion. It was the Republicans who called on the courts, using the checks and balances system. You make it sound like the court made the law. No, it was congress.

You went to court, you lost. Get over it.

"Now, if they send the IRS on us then it’s not a health care issue then it’s simply a failure to pay our tax, as John Roberts said, this is now a tax. Well, what did we have a revolution for: taxation without representation."

I must have missed the part where they've removed your right to representation within the Federal Government and decided to tax you anyway.

"We went to war and real Christians picked up real guns and defeated a real army."

You keep telling yourself that.

"I’m not calling for an insurrection or to take up guns but I’m saying that they thought it was so serious that they pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to have a land that we live in, which is three greatest experiment in human liberty based on Christian principles the world has ever known, and all of that is at stake."

Just a few things:

1: Taxation without representation was not what they risked "their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor" for. It was just a wee bit more complicated than that. Try reading a real history book instead of the Cliff's Notes version.

2: None of what our government is founded on is anywhere near "Christian principles". The Treaty of Tripoli and mountains of documents from the people that set it up show otherwise.

3: None of this is at stake simply because of a health care bill.

4: You're a moron.

With every branch of government being impeached, who, exactly, is going to be doing the impeaching? It's sort of like saying we need to arrest all the police officers.

What is it with right-wingers thinking "doing something I personally don't like" is somehow an impeachable offence?

So I take it you already refuse to pay all those taxes that would go towards the evil socialised education, fire service, police force, roads...

The ACA was ratified by Congress, signed by the president, and upheld by the courts. The process worked exactly as designed and the full measure of the checks and balances checked and balanced the act.

I abhor violence and suffering but I would almost be amused if these freaks grabbed their guns and marched on Washington. Nothing a little napalm and a couple Hellfire missiles couldn't quash.

I didn't hear Tony whining when the SCOTUS decided on Citizens United or installed Dubbya in the White House. Here's the thing, Tony. "Freedom" does not mean that you will always get your way in everything. Freedom means that one is free to live as one wishes and partake in the advantages of society. One of those advantages is shared risk. "Shared risk"; look it up.

"Well, what did we have a revolution for: taxation without representation."

Last I heard, Obama won the presidency with the majority of the vote. Surely a tax created by the representative of the majority would be perfectly all right with Mr Perkins?

So you want to prevent your employees from having health care because the government has mandated that everyone have health care? How Christian of you.

Also, everyone having health care is not total annihilation.

If you absolutely refuse to participate in the eldritch evil that is health care, then kiss your tax returns goodbye, because the IRS is going to keep that shit until you buy or pay the fine.

So sorry that you have to be FORCED to participate in a society.

"taxation without representation"

You are represented, dipshit.

"all that draconian, totalitarian, socialist actions were in the past"

The Nazis weren't socialist. Doesn't matter how many times you say it, it's still a lie.

"we should replace the president in November"

Which is all you care about. That's all the so-called Religious Right cares about. You don't want the kingdom of God, you want to inherit the earth.

Perkins, you and the Fox crowd compare this to 9/11 and spread lies in an attempt to help the insurance companies who want to abuse the horrible pre-existing consition practices.

I don't like the individual mandate either. I think it should be replaced with a tax increase on the rich. But this is FAR better than our old "system".

Also, the number one reason why you're wrong is because Bill O'Reilly (of all people) defended John Roberts and said that this needs to be repealed through Congress and not the courts.

>we will not send the federal government a dime.

Do you think he knows that the figures show it'll lead to a saving...? As in, it'll lower his tax bill...

I don't think he's thought this through... not if he's against something that will save him money.

Meanwhile, in Europe, they are laughing at the mere notion that anybody could believe that universal healthcare (which Obamacare is not) would or even could result in any of the right-wing talking points.

Now, if they send the IRS on us then it’s not a health care issue then it’s simply a failure to pay our tax, as John Roberts said, this is now a tax.

Exactly. Just like the "tax" you pay if you don't neuter your dog and the "tax" you pay to have your garbage hauled away instead of throwing in the street. When you do things that cost the rest of us money, we have the right to demand that you pay up. If you have a heart attack and don't have the $200,000 it costs to treat you, or you have a child with lupus that costs millions and don't have insurance, the rest of have to fork it over. So if you don't have insurance, you have to pay us in installments in advance, because sooner or later, it's going to happen. I pay enough for health insurance. I'm damned if I'm going to give you a free ride, too.

You had representation. You had your Republican congresspeople that you voted into office. If you don't like their decisions, you're entitled to take it up with them, by all means, but don't pretend you didn't get a fair chance.

Also, you can't impeach the Supreme Court, for this exact reason.

Our revolution was fought for many other reasons.

And guess what jackass, you have representation.
