I can't fathom the hatred of these people for the idea that the government might use some of their tax money to help people not die.

Sounds like it'd be the name of some cartoon alligator running his swamp South American style. Honestly, I'd watch a show like that, if someone would make it.

"Make these people pay for their sins against the Republic and the Forefathers."
And how do you feel about George Washington mandating American citizens to buy guns? Or how about Thomas Jefferson and his emphasis on public education.
Were they socialists too? I think you need to learn the meaning of that word. And please stop listening to Fox news and right wing radio because they are not representing this issue honestly and are sabotaging any chance of an informed debate in this country about a very serious issue.
I have never in my life seen one issue so blatantly and egregiously misrepresented.

"without a SINGLE WORD I am going to leave the filled basket representing lots of bucks in potential sales, right smack there at the register (on the counter, what not) and not saying a word, walk right out. I intend to do it when other people are in line, too."
...and this is going to prove... what? That the only one who has time to waste in doing such a pointless act is you.
Meanwhile, I'm living in my UK with a National Health Service that was created in the late 1940s, and nobody got their knickers in a knot about such - not even Conservatives - from then right to today, 6th July 2012.
...besides, with so many supermarkets - even the smaller 'convenience store'-sized branches (such as Tesco's, Sainsbury's etc) - having self-scan checkouts, the mere practice of what you're suggesting will make you look even more of a tit than you are. Especially at Tesco's who have a Zero Tolerance policy on unjustifiable behaviour, even by customers, thus resulting in getting you banned.
Moral: You're not the only customer out there. And you're not the only one who thinks Universal Healthcare is a good idea in the US. We in the UK have has such since the late 1940s. We're still here.
Three words: Supply and Demand.

All he's gonna get is "I wouldn't know, sir. That'll be $49.99." Anyone in retail wants to keep their job, isn't gonna argue politics or religion (or anything else) with the customer.

And what will you do when you find someone who agrees with you in the irrational Obama hate? Do you actually have the cash to buy all that crap? Or are you going to admit that you were just testing the shop-owner, and that you can't actually buy all that stuff? Seems like no matter who you pull this on, you're going to come off as a complete douche and get banned from the store.

Japan has universal health care, a far more socialistic system than what the ACA provides for. Do you pull that stunt in Tokyo?
Or are you part of a military family that has guaranteed health care? If so, funny that you would be so opposed to others getting what you freely take for yourself.

the inhabitants of Tokyo (and Japan as a whole) will gently celebrate the departure of this faillow.
In the meantime, this expat will whinge his way around the expat community like a wet weekend.
I shan't impune his patriotism, but a true 'mercun wouldn't have much cause to go to forrin parts

Speaking of socialism, what do you think about the US military.
If you understand the concept of socialism, and are not just parroting words, maybe you should go 'guerilla' against that socialist entity.

Okay, so let me see if I'm wrapping my mind around this...
Your plan to protest health care reform is to:
find a small, privately owned business and waste an hour randomly filling up a shopping cart with things you have no intention of purchasing simply for the pleasure of leaving them there should the cashier not agree with your misinformed beliefs.
However, you may accidentally find that he does in fact agree with you and be stuck paying for at least $200.00 worth of shit you didn't want in the first place.
Option 1, as you have outlined it here, will result in a tremendous waste of time for both you and the employee who has to return each item to the shelf.
Option 2, which you have obviously failed to consider (judging by the utter stupidity of what you're suggesting, the smart money says logic is not your forte), costs you a large chunk of change and leaves you feeling as idiotic as you deserve for being such an assclown in the first place.
Please do this the next time you come to the states and be sure to bring someone along with you to record the situation. Whichever way it ends, it is sure to be the most anticlimactic clip to ever be ignored on YouTube, but hey - it gives you something to do, right?
You sir, are an absolute dumbfuck.

Make sure you are covered for lawsuits, and do it.(Firing liberal employees)
So I guess you would be perfectly OK with me firing an employee for being a teabagger, right?
Oh, and please go ahead and pull your stunt at my business - I can then hire an extra employee to clean up your mess. (I'll pick a liberal, just to pi$$ you off).

The only thing your idea would show people is that you're a hyper-political nutjob who gets pissy when someone disagrees with him. Still, I'll laugh when the cashier says "I don't know" or "I don't care" and you end up either having to buy a bunch of stuff you didn't need or didn't bring enough money to buy the items and huff off in a storm literally over nothing.
