And judging by your grammar and spelling, you appear to be a product of this "failed school system" yourself.

Learn punctuation. Learn spelling. Learn syntax. Then come back and we'll talk about illiteracy.

Prayer is not out of school.
Any kid can pray any time.
Not that it makes a fucking difference.
Lie some more.

MeeehThe result of the lib mind set since the 60's has resulted in what we have now a failing Public School system
Not because of idiots like Texas GOP then I guess:
"“We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.”
You simply can not make this shit up!

Nothing would happen.

Kids can still pray if they feel like it, you just can't have a government official lead a school prayer. Also, a lot of the countries that are ahead of the US in education don't have daily prayers to the Christian god. Maybe you're full of bullshit, and the failing education system is caused by the lack of funding it receives due to conservatives. Just a thought.

WehpudicabokTop ten US states in education level*
4. New Jersey
10. New York
Blue state. Blue state. Blue state. The only red states in the Top 10 are Virginia and Montana - and even Virginia is debatable; they voted for Obama in '08.
Sure looks like liberal approaches to education work. Huh.
*The site explains that the ranking "measures states based on student achievement, positive outcomes and personal attention from teachers."

Reintroduce... the pledge? Uh, numbnuts, it never went away. Also, reintroducing prayer is against the law. And by the law I'm preferring to part of THE CONSTITUTION. Read the constitution before you claim to support it, otherwise you're the real un-American people here.

Okay, so all Bill has to do here is definitively prove that removing faculty/staff-led prayer (social conservatives always simplify it to "school prayer" because they want to make it seem like little fundie boys and girls in public schools aren't still allowed to pray their little asses off) directly lead to a "failing public school system" instead of a myriad of other factors not related to a lack of genuflection to 8 lb 6 oz baby Jesus. Should be easy.

You're just crabby because your Dad couldn't spell 'Shoe'.

Europe. Completely secular in education. Has the best schools in the world. You fail.

finally, it's prayer! Here I am thinking the school system is failing because of funding cuts and discrimination against teachers! (well, they had it coming, fat cat teachers, giving my kid bad grade in biology class for not answering questions about evilution)

Every time a Conservative or Republican takes office in either Canada or the US education takes a knife somewhere that bleeds profusely.
George Walker "Dubya" Bush: Republican, devout Christian, literally wears the flag as often as he can find an excuse for, graduate of the most expensive and respected private school in the US and possibly the world... Instituted the "No Child Left Behind" policy that automatically passes failing children and is rumored to be *nearly illiterate* from having bought his way through school. This is partially evidenced by him holding chldren's books upside-down.
Perhaps we should institute a mandatory restriction that prevents churches from taking on parishoners until they pass a certain reading comprehension level and actually force them to read the Bible/Torah/Koran and demonstrate understanding of the material, including the horrifying bits, before actually declaring themselves a member of that religion.
You know, just to see what happens.

Well, hommskullink does not work as well as public schools, so I would stay with the current system...

or could it be the "something for nothing" culture developed by the media etc, and big business and money, where application doesn't pay but greed and/or luck does.
We live in a society where largely air-headed celebs are feted, and big money financiers courted, and little people pay. So the "leaders" of our society demonstrate the needlessness of community values, which are adopted by parents and families, not schools
