I have a great little experiment that you could do at home to prove your point to the wider world. It involves you sitting inside a large bubble full of CO2 for ten minutes. When you emerge alive and unaffected after ten minutes you will no doubt be able earn a Nobel prize for your contribution to science. One the other hand, if you are wrong, the rest of us all get to live in a world with one less moron in it.

If there's anything you're going to find fault in from this, it absolutely should NOT be the part that states that "Trees give off carbon dioxide".
Trees, when there is no sunlight for photosynthesis (so at night, for example), undergo what is known as respiration. During this respiration, they will take in oxygen and give off CO2. The amount is significantly smaller than the amount of CO2 they take in during photosynthesis, but it still occurs.
