How about this: We wont force your church to marry gay's if you wont force our government to mandate laws based on religion. oh wait... that's how it was intended to work!
I don't get why there so up in arms over gay marriage anyway. If you believe all the garbage in the bible, it's not like a US law is all of a sudden going to force you to share space in heaven with the gays. They're still going to burn in hell eternally, so you can rest easy knowing that.

I have absolutely no problem with churches being allowed to refuse to marry gay people. We just reclass them as a non-profit (meaning they pay taxes) and we're good.

Oh FFS! I am so tired of this stupid scare-mongering.
Nobody will force churches to do anything like that, okay? They only have to recognise in their hospitals and adoption agencies or whatever else gets public funding that these two adults are married, and spousal rights apply.
Anyone who doesn't like it (Boy Scouts included!) can just quit feeding off of public funding.
Easy as 1-2-3 ... Not that you probably comprehend that either.

Nothing these people say is shocking anymore. It's all starting to run together, like a fire at an ice cream factory. This is the same bullshit they were spouting before the last election, and it didn't come true. It won't come true this time around. Isn't there a word for people who use fear to push a political goal? It's right on the tip of my tongue...I know what it is...

he is strongarming a bill through Congress to have DOMA overruled and that states have no right deciding who can and can not get married.
The President can't "strong-arm" a bill through Congress. All he can do is refuse to sign a bill, and even then, Congress can overrule him by a 2/3 vote of both houses.
Churches all over the country will be mandated to perform sodomite “marriages”, under threat of having the church closed down.
The Constitution forbids the government to prevent the free exercise of religion or to shut down churches.
Christ, haven't these morons ever read the Constitution?

Homophobia is almost absent in Europe, and for good reason, as it was scientifically proven several years ago that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay. Of course, since the majority of Americans loathe science, these canards continue unabated.

Homosexuality was categorically proven to be biological nearly four years ago. And the "muslim Obama" bit just instantly says that you're a racist.

Religion Lession #1, World Religions (How many times MUST this be repeated?):
"Muslim" =/= "God-less"
Muslims believe in the God of Abraham, as do Christians and Jews.
Religion Lesson #2, Religion and US Society: The United Church of Christ has performed and recognized same-sex marriages for over 2 decades, regardless of whether the state/federal government has recognized them. The government has not, and cannot, "force" them to cease and desist, any more than the government can "force" religious bodies to perform SSM if the state chooses to recognize same.
Church-state separation is a bitch, ain't it?
The rest of this stuff is smae anti-gay marriage/anti-Obama wharrgarbl, different day.

don't be an ass. Separation of Church and state. In other words, if a Church doesn't want to marry gays, they don't have too. Of course, they're be churches that will marry gays and civil marriages as well.

There has never been any proposed law requiring churches to perform gay marriages. That's a right-wing lie.
All laws currently in effect in states that have gay marriage and all those that have been proposed in other states pertain to civil marriage ONLY. Otherwise, the government would be interfering with churches' constitutional rights to freedom of religion, just as they would be if they were to require Catholic churches to marry Jews.
And Obama isn't legally capable of "strongarming" anything through Congress. If only. In fact, nothing at all can get through Congress now, thanks to an obstructionist Republican minority that forces a super-majority vote on everything.
