[re: the fish-tetrapod transitional fossil tiktaalik being found in the very geological stratum predicted by evolution]

And tiktaalik might have been found in that deep stratum for either of at least two reasons:

1. It was less able to seek higher ground than other, "smarter" animals, and thus was buried deep in the Flood.

2. It is actually an antediluvian laboratory chimera and hence an out-of-place artifact of a society already known to have been inordinately cruel.

1. If the animals are organized in the fossil strata by intelligence in escaping the flood water, why are they ordered so perfectly instead of being overlapping uniform distributions? Couldn't there have been a particularly smart compsognathus and a particularly derpy smilodon?

2. What the actual fuck?!

Also:
All this extra attention can mean only one thing: the evolutionary paradigm is more vulnerable to abandonment than it has been since Charles Darwin first proposed it.

Rumours of Darwin's untimely demise have been greatly exaggerated.

> antediluvian laboratory chimera

Why does an omnipotent, all-wise, all-knowing God need to create "laboratory chimeras"? Can't He get his shit right the first time?

"the fish-tetrapod transitional fossil tiktaalik"

Wow... would this mean it's basically a fish with legs and can swim and breathe water?

"It was less able to seek higher ground than other, "smarter" animals, and thus was buried deep in the Flood."

IT FUCKING SWIMS!!!!

Very commendable of you to point out these evolution busting tit-bits Terry. However, once you point out the obvious truth, as revealed in the greatest science text book ever written, the Bible, then all else is redundant.

Once everyone realizes that God took a handful of dust, muttered abracadabra, and lo, there sat a man called Adam, then evolution is dead in the ground.

Or maybe, just maybe, tiktaalik showed up exactly where scientists said he would because they were right all along! Of course, that would mean you were wrong, and we can't have that.

A fish seeking 'higher ground'..... Dafuq?

How 'bout reason 3: 'It died and was covered by sediment that hardened and sealed the fossil thousands of years ago, proving evolution right and Fundies wrong.'

Someone please tell me that Conservapedia is the biggest Poe of all time.

I suppose it could be Andrew Schlafly's way of getting back at his mother by making conservative look really stupid.

"antediluvian laboratory chimera"

Terry Hurlbut (hehehe) just solved all the creationists' problems. All the fossil evidence is just the barbarous works of antidiluvian scientists! This sounds sooooo much better than the devil buried them.

I'm with you Netboy, I know its juvenile but I still laugh everytime I see the name "Hurlbut".

However, Hurlbut must a synonym for Dumbass because this argument is retarded. OK, you want to explain the layered fossil record by claiming that smarter animals would have been better able to reach higher ground during the flood. On the surface that makes a little sense I guess...a little. The problem is that it is 100% true. Apparently there was not one human being that was too sick, or too handicapped to make it to higher ground. No one was in jail. Every single human being that we have found was able to get to higher ground. Every other advanced primate as well.

Fucking idiot. Get off my internet.

And by the way, David B. FTW! That was awesome dude.

Much like Abe Vigoda, rumors of evolution's imminent demise are both premature and highly exaggerated.

Evolution is more vulnerable than ever? Does this idiot honestly think that the distribution of animal fossils in the stratum is due to the "dumber" animals not being able to make it to higher ground?

Can anyone honestly believe this with not a single exception ever discovered? Not to mention the little issue of different levels of radioactive decay.

I don't even fucking understand the second "reason." There was an antedeluvian society in fucking Northern Canada with laboratories? And your evidence for this is?

I mean, WTF? I have to stop reading FSTDT. One of these days my head is going to explode.

Funny how that fundie completely missed the point - Tiktaalik was found from where it was PREDICTED to be, using knowledge about evolution.

Pffft, the successful prediction by evolution was just a fluke.

Pre-Flood laboratory experiment of ancient sadistic scientists is clearly a much more likely explanation.
