Trust me, you feel a lot better and freer when you practise everyday separatism and womyn-centrism (while keeping an eye on what’s happening in the world).

Intersex competition between the X and Y chromosome, is well-known in the animal world. The X chromosome, which exists in all humans, appears to try to protect itself from the Y chromosome, which appears in only half of them. The Y chromosome, which has no interest in the survival of the X chromosome, resists this attempt. This has been offered as an explanation for why the Y chromosome is so small: it's attempting to become a smaller target.
In one experiment, they bred males and females in separate strains. When they put them back together, the male sperm, bred to resist X chromosome competition, literally killed the females. In some insects, the females have become 99% of the population. Humans have resisted this. The ratio of males to females after age 5 is pretty much 50/50. At birth, there are about 105 males for every 100 females. This has been explained by the fact that male sperm, with the smaller Y chromosome, are smaller and more aqua-dynamic, and can therefore swim faster. But because males only have one X chromosome, and therefore no backup, they're more prone to genetic defects on the X chromosome and have a higher infant mortality rate.
It has often struck me that the most scientifically ignorant and science-denying people are the extreme right, and paradoxically, the extreme left.
