As one of my fellow posters rightly commented, how are they Marxist if they are a corporations?
Um, wouldn't Macy's make more money making clothes for both men and women-which is kinda their purpose as a corporation?
And they're apparently using androgynous manikins now...what? Are they really? I must go to the nearest Macy's store after work to see if he/she is really as full of it as he/she probably is.

Frankly, at this point, it would be dishonest of me to say I didn't agree with you and Headache to some extent, but go easy and chillax about it. It's true. I went into Macy's and all they had for sale were copies of Das Kapital and busts of Marx. All the staff were in drag and they were being constantly monitored by a telescreen that they couldn't turn off.
Luckily, savagesusie is the bearer and keeper of The Truth, and is a shining example to the rest of us. If only we could all attain to her standard of intellectual clarity and good clean Christian heterosexuality.
@Kulgur: Orwell wasn't really a Marxist, just a democratic socialist, with some sympathies toward anarchism.

1) Mannequins (that is the proper spelling) are made unisex to save money - they don't have to make two different versions of the same thing, so they're easier to mass-produce. This is the pinnacle of capitalism.
2) George Orwell (the man who wrote 1984) was a socialist. That tends to make fundies' (and frankly non-fundie conservatives') heads explode, so let me explain. There is a difference between socialism and communism. Communism is socialism taken to its extreme, with governmental controls replacing civil liberties. Orwell was (rightly) against this. Socialism is simply government-maintained economic equality and stability. None of the bullshit you assign to it.

Next on the Marxist Agenda: Floor Tiles. When looking down at a tile floor, it is clear that each and every one of the individual floor tiles look the same. This is obviously a marketing gimmick by the communists to sway the population into thinking everyone is equal in every way! Even after closing, all the tiles are cleaned by a janitor, suggesting that good communist citizens wait for someone else to care for their needs and give them handouts!
