Sweet fucking Jesus. I'm not going to make any witty comments, because this is just not fucking funny. I hope like hell that he wins the lawsuit.

Isn't all medicine going against god's will? He's the one who sent down plagues to kill everyone...

Hippocrates, who's that? Never mind suing or disbarring her, charge her with attempted manslaughter.

This is what I mean; they are actively trying to kill those they dislike. Only in America could anyone get away with this, because Americans value private property more than human rights.
But like I said earlier, in a few decades the fundies will have outbred the rest of us, thus putting them in the majority. The quest for equality and reason was doomed before it began, ironically thanks to natural selection: fundie reactionaries have more children than others, so over time the percentage of indoctrinated children (and nine times out of ten, they don't break free of it) increases until they can overwhelm us through sheer numbers. And since the US has the worst education system in the world, there is nothing we can do about it. Nothing can stop America from becoming another Iran, sadly.

Leighton Buzzard: I don't think there is such a thing as attempted manslaughter.

There is so much wrong with this entire scenario.
Poor guy. Hope he wins the lawsuit. :(

Okay - this guy seriously needs to also lodge a formal complaint with the AMA about this lunatic. She should NOT be a doctor. She is suffering a mental impairment that makes her unfit to practise medicine.
I hope the guy wins millions.

Congratulations, Dr. Borga. You have been selected to head our new T-4 program.
(Note to Leighton: you can charge her with attempted murder, but not attempted manslaughter, because manslaughter does not involve the elements of premeditation or malice aforethought)

Borga should be stripped of her medical license and never again be allowed to do so much as hand out a Band-Aid.

Now there's a doctor who should immediately have his license revoked.

Doesn't the US have something called reckless endangerment? Can't she be arrested on that charge?
Or have I been watching too much Law & Order?

This hospital should be sued for letting a witch doctor impersonate a real doctor.

Assuming this lady claims to be Christian, you ma'am, are not only a despicable human being, an embarrassment to humanity but Jesus is appalled at your behavior. Kindly find another job and ensure your genes do not reproduce.

My question is how did the quake doctor even know the man in question was gay? As a doctor she should know perfectly well that there are ways to get HIV other then gay sex.

Adey: the USA has fifty jurisdictions. Some of them would term this "reckless endangerment"; some, "attempted murder by omission"; some would simply call it "criminal negligence", though the elements of premeditation and malice aforethought would seem to mandate it be charged higher. There are clear indications of discrimination on the basis of orientation and possibly religion, as well, perhaps sufficient to invoke federal jurisdiction. Clearly the hospital was complicit in trying to kill this man. All sorts of causes of action, civil and criminal, suggest themselves, and they'd better be followed up on, before our hospitals become T-4 wards dedicated to terminating "lives not worth living".

ChakatBlackstar: She asked him, and he told her the truth. A doctor asking such questions is presumed to be doing so to help find a cure, not pass a death sentence by withholding one. She is a gross betrayer of a patient's trust.

Coming from a small collection of islands over the pond it is difficult to grasp the nature of US law.

I guess the Hippocratic oath doesn't matter to Jesus junkies? What about all that stuff Jesus said about healing the sick? I don't remember anything Jesus said in the bible ending with "...unless they're gay."
