I really hope Fox News run a documentary to debunk Copernican theory and prove the fixed Earth view correct. It would be very entertaining.

You know those jokes about how all those creationists who want to "teach the controversy" must also allow the "controversy" of astrology and geocentrism as well if they don't want to be flaming hypocrites? Apparently, they are no longer jokes.

I see what's happening here. The Copernican system is still taught in science classes - not as current theory, obviously, but as part of the history of the work and theories leading to our modern understanding of the universe. This guy, along with other nuts, has it in his head that if you build and advance on an incorrect theory, then everything following the theory is also incorrect. So, our modern understanding of the universe is incorrect because it is rooted in an incorrect understanding of the solar system. Obviously that's not how science works, but it's how these morons *think* it works.

"Ignorance is bliss.... "
Then you must live in paradise!
"The factless Copernican system is plagued with flaws and even Nick admitted to it's fallacy (as well as Galileo)."
Not so. Although it did require the celestial mechanics of Newton to finally explain the system.
'sun centered' (=/=) sun worship system requires the moon to shift into reverse orbit..."
Citation required on this. Get your doctors/wardens to sign it too.
"...which is the direct opposite of what is observed. In addition, by shifting the moon's orbit into 'reverse', there should be a lunar eclipse each month, yet this does not occur, ..."
Never heard of the Ecliptic and Declination?
"hence what we observe is truly taking place, i.e. the heavens are moving east to west."
Er no. The Earth is turning on its axis.

So you say, though most differ.
"... while at the same time destroying fake science 'backed' with fraud. Earth is fixed."

I'd really like to know what cunting difference it would make whether or not the Earth moves or not?
To religion of course.

Just when you think Fox couldn't get any more retrogressive, they start disseminating this kind of pigheadedly antiscientific superstition.

How can someone be intelligent enough to construct a sentence and use a keyboard yet be so abysmally ignorant? Centuries of scientists and astronomers have ascertained that the earth moves round the sun, and this has been definitively proved over and over again.
But, of course, "nasarthebest" knows better.

Why does it not surprise me that this is on the Fox News website? This is the type of idiot they pander to.
And what the hell is "reverse orbit," and why would the earth orbiting the sun require it?
@Apatheist:
It matters because we know as a scientific fact that the earth orbits the sun, but they're saying that this is impossible because their ancient holy book says so. If they had their way they'd be teaching this in school.

You're jumping the gun. You want to start campaigning for Geocentrism AFTER creationists have taken over the schools and removed all vestiges of science from science class. Because as of now anyone can easily debunk your nonsense and it takes the complete destruction of science to take you seriously.

I foresee a Fox News position in this guy's future. I'm sure they can create a science segment for him so that he can explain how the evil "left wing conspiracy" is distorting the truth.
Fox viewers would eat it up, I'm sure.
