Adding "In my opinion" doesn't make what you said less stupid. It's like a shed I saw in the small town of Palestine, Illinois, which is close to where I live (Robinson, Illinois; bigger than Palestine but still pretty small) that had "WELCOME TO THE COMMUNIST TOWN" spraypainted on it and in the corner it had "IN MY OPINION" spraypainted on the corner. Though that one was funny because it made no sense; Rookie here takes the concept of the Communist Town shed up to 100³.

Leighton Buzzard is entirely right about the school system.
The confusing naming of 'Public' and 'Private' schools goes back to medieval times when there were no free schools; the only kind of school was a paying school, and the difference between them was that 'Public' ones had to admit all who could pay and pass the examination whereas 'Private' schools only admitted children of clergymen or members of certain guilds.
In the 1500s and 1800s there were reforms passed to eliminate the 'private' schools. So the term 'public' school is only applied to schools that are old enough to have lived through the period when there was a distinction between 'public' and 'private' (like Eton, Harrow, etc. which are all over 400 years old)
Schools that are 'public' but were not around at the time when 'private' schools also existed are known as 'independent' (because they are selective and fee paying, but not old enough to be 'public' schools)
Basically it's like the difference between Ivy League colleges and others. Public schools are functionally identical to Independent schools but not as prestigious (old).
Government run free schools are called state schools (because they are run by the state)

Lower test scores are a statistical aberration. They're the result of broader demographics taking the tests and not just the so-called academic elite.
Once demographics are accounted for the test scores actually show an INCREASE across all demographic groups.
This is consistent with the Flynn Effect that someone mentioned earlier.

I wonder how many of the computer whiz kids, engineers, technicians, etc., i.e. the people who design all the cool stuff Billy Rooks probably identifies with the superior Christian American way of life, come from home schooling families or parochial schools. I'm guessing, uhh, none.
Home schoolers usually end up flipping burgers or stacking shelves, students from parochial schools become store managers or insurance adjusters, students from high brow private schools go into business, medicine or such.
The whiz kids, engineers, technicians, etc. come from the public school system. Billy should look around his house and decide how much of the cool stuff he wants to trash, seeing how they come from satanic, immoral, criminal enterprises.
