No, it's your delusions and prejudice, not the APA's. They're still an objective, scientific group. You're just a hateful, bitter fundie and it's people like you who make me sick. Please, kindly vacate yourself from the gene pool.

"The APA has really in large part simply become a political activist organization," Barber decides. "They are no longer objectively a scientific group that views things through an objective prism; but rather, they are pushing a political, sexual, anarchist agenda."
In other words, the APA, and every other major health organization, disagrees with Barber's petty prejudices, so they must be involved in some kind of conspiracy. Arrogance at its finest.
He says the APA is helping "to facilitate" those caught up in the lifestyle to continue a destructive, unhealthy, immoral and biologically wrong way of living and thinking.
1. Petty bigotry against people who have done you no harm is what will destroy society, not allowing people to love whomever they choose, however they choose.
2. Homosexuality is not what is unhealthy, it is risky sexual practices which are unhealthy, and which homosexuals and heterosexuals partake in equally. Just because you seem to think that all homosexuals are promiscuous sexual deviants doesn't mean it's true.
3. What's moral and immoral is entirely subjective. Don't try to speak for everybody else's moral code, because not everybody is going to agree with you.
4. Barber seems to care deeply about what we do with our genitals. Pathologically so.

So the APA *knows* that homosexuality is psychologically damaging, but they cover that up and produce studies that encourage people to be gay, because ... ?

"A conservative attorney disagrees with the findings of "Private Lives 2," a study of Australian homosexuals that suggests discrimination, not lifestyle, is the reason why homosexuals seek psychological counseling -- a conclusion similar to that reached by the American Psychological Association. "
That's because this attorney - like all conservatives - is full of shit.

"But Matt Barber, vice president of Liberty Counsel Action, tells OneNewsNow other research has repeatedly concluded that it is the lifestyle -- not discrimination or lack of societal "acceptance" -- that results in homosexuals seeking counseling."
You seem confused. It's not "research" when you start with an opinion, find "evidence" that supports it, and then claim that you have something valid. That's called propaganda.
"He believes groups like the APA have lost credibility over the years by suggesting otherwise."
Even if this were true, at least they had credibility to begin with, which is far more than people like you have ever had.
"The APA has really in large part simply become a political activist organization,"
Why? Because they don't agree with you?
"They are no longer objectively a scientific group that views things through an objective prism; but rather, they are pushing a political, sexual, anarchist agenda."
Riiight. Of course they are.
"He says the APA is helping 'to facilitate' those caught up in the lifestyle to continue a destructive, unhealthy, immoral and biologically wrong way of living and thinking."
You might have had some small glimmer of an actual, rational, unbiased argument there if you hadn't let "immoral" and "biologically wrong" slip in there, which only exposes your true agenda and bias.
"'So for the APA to help them rationalize these behaviors, it's really irresponsible of the American Psychological Association to do this,' the attorney submits."
You're an attorney?
You can shut the fuck up now. I thought at least you'd have the sense to be pontificating on a field within your scope of training, but I guess I was off the mark on just how bright you are.

OK, what empirical data do you have to suggest that it's the actual "gay lifestyle" which causes depression and suicide, and not being marginalized, ridiculed, and demonized by a majority of society?
Now that homophobes are starting to become marginalized, you see them all attempting DARVO in order to try to justify their hatred.

This sentence is right for all the wrong reasons.

Apologies are unnecessary. Australia has been horribly sexist, racist, xenophobic, homophobic and generally bigoted for a while now. We simply know how to hide it better (i.e. our politicians aren't stupid enough to broadcast their bigotry for everyone to see), and because we are a tiny, important nation we aren't capable of spreading it around with a shovel (like what tends to happen with the USA).

What is this "other research"? Has it been peer-reviewed and published in reputed scientific journals? Is it perhaps Kent Hovind's pet prison project?
What are your credentials in this field, Mr Barber? Are you a psychologist? A scientist in the medical field? Do you have any kind of medical education?
A quick guess; which group needs more psychological therapy; gay people in the Bible Belt, USA, who have been ostracized from their family due to their homosexuality, or gay people in Stockholm, Sweden, who have been accepted by their families and are still loved for who they are? If they all need just as much therapy, you might have a point.
Sexual anarchist agenda? If you're trying to think up good band names, you're doing a poor job, Mr Barber.
Are homosexual animals also "caught up in the lifestyle" of something "destructive, unhealthy, immoral and biologically wrong"? Or are they merely Natures safety valve against over-population and a way to ensure that more adults are available to take care of the offspring?

It's hard to maintain a delusion in the face of growing evidence. You gotta give this little boy some credit for finding a lie he can tell himself. I assume he's also repeating "I do NOT think David Hasselhoff is hot, I do NOT think David Hasselhoff is hot, I do NOT..."
