Sure, most of the characters were, and still are, White, but the most appealing White characters have always been strong supports of aracial constitutional patriotism, with an opposition to the values of “intolerance” (sic) that nationalists would favor.
One can argue that the racially liberal White Marvel of the past set the stage for the more multiracial Marvel of today. If Peter Parker were not such a bleeding heart racial liberal (reflecting the attitudes of his creators), then his “Ultimate” (but not original) version would never have been killed off to make way for a “person of color.” Steve Rogers, Captain America, may represent “Whiteness” physically, but did he ever represent nationalist values? That comic characterized racial nationalists as the very personification of evil, and showed Rogers with a Negro partner and a Jewish lover. “Whiteness”?
Similarities between Marvel Comics and Hollywood with respect to their treatment of ethnicity and race are not surprising, given the similar ethnic origins of both institutions. Films, TV, books, comics, or whatever the medium, the extended phenotypes of particular ethnic groups are always expressed, and it is clear that these extended phenotypes are incompatible with the long-term well-being of European-derived peoples.

Did you seriously just ask if Captain motherfucking America *really* represented the nationalist values of America, based solely on the fact that his later comics (which still had a severely racist undertone by many accounts) had him dealing with Americans of all stripes as though they were fellow Americans and not as though he adhered to a strictly regulated social hierarchy or caste system from a non-democratic nation?
I'm not even into comics and you just managed to offend me with the sheer idiocy of that claim.

You HAVE your racist fanzines, I've seen them. Poor quality, but hey, go waste your time and money on them and maybe the authors will get better. (and drift to a more widely marketable genre and disown their past work and leave you to rage alone)

It must be very lonely being a racial supremacist, or whatever they want to be called. Nothing significant ever created in the past few hundred years was done so with the input of one single race, so anytime a supremacist ever discovers any other race having anything to do with anything (which happens anytime they bother to research something) they are forced by their own philosophy to dismiss it as evil or irrelevant. Eventually they've sequestered themselves in their own tiny bubble of delusion, utterly convinced of their own inherent superiority while the rest of the universe goes on without them. It would be pitiable if they weren't disgusting human beings.

Funny, I always thought that Captain America always fought for, you know, AMERICA. The ideal version of America I mean, not whatever Anglo-Saxon dreamland you wish for. If he were a real person, he'd probably give you a strong "You Suck" speech for your attitudes.
The best heroes will defend EVERYONE, regardless of race, orientation, religion, or whatever. Any hero who would only help bigots would not be worthy of the term.

You're right that Hollywood and the comics industry are similar in their portrayal of pretty much anyone who isn't white. They're pretty much always the supporting cast, rarely the hero, and until recently, often the bad guy. Particularly if they were Asian. While I'm on this soapbox, what the hell is it with Hollywood and baddies being Brits? We're not all supervillains, you know. Just... most of us >:)
But yeah, it'd be nice to see more diversity in both industries. Oh, and for comics to stop being drawn by sexist asshats with very little understanding of how a human body that isn't made of rubber actually works.
