Quote# 86841

I believe atheists are taking a huge risk on their lives, eternity is a long time to be separated from God in hell. They say they do not believe in such things, but what we believe does not matter, it matters if what we believe is true. Atheists no deep down that God exists because otherwise they wouldn't be afraid of death and would not attack people of different faiths. I do believe the alien phenomenon is real but I believe it is demons is disguise and it will be a fake alien invasion by these fallen angels in the end times as revelation talks about.

Pascal's wager number 57 zillion. You see one of them, you see all of them.

Um, atheists would be MORE likely to fear death than believers because they have more to lose. As a man of faith, I have less reason to fear death than someone who believes there is nothing after.
Also, because I keep my beliefs to myself and mind my own business, I have only been "attacked" (really, engaged in debate) by one atheist out of the dozens I have known. And we were both drunk at the time so I don't think it counts. In contrast, every believer I've ever met who was not of my own faith has attacked my beliefs.

This has never made sense to me. If anything, atheists should be more afraid of death because, by their belief system, there is no afterlife.

"I believe atheists are taking a huge risk on their lives, eternity is a long time" tl;dr...

Occam's Razor slits Pascal's Wager up a treat. Besides (emphasis added)...:

'Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.'

-Marcus Aurelius

Seems this ancient Roman won the bet before Pascal had even been born to make his 'Wager'...! [/smartarse]

And of course, even before then, seeing as Cybertronians are millions of years old...:

'I am Optimus Prime, and I send this message so that our past will always be remembered. For in those memories, we live on.'

-Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen"

And one fiction is just as good as another. Amirite?!

Ryo: 'Hmm! Ok! Now you're saying you must have PHYSICAL EVIDENCE in order to believe in something? What about faith?'

I've seen a flying car. Specifically a Vauxhall Astra VXR flying around the studio in an episode of BBC's "Top Gear":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&v=g5n9FYTPTB0

Also, another flying car at the NEC Arena; again, "Top Gear"-related:

(oh, and what Tom Cruise Control doesn't realise in the above pic, is that it's Xenu under that helmet! >:D )

Some say, that he can only be heard by cats. And that he has no concept of 'faith', because it has yet to prove it's existence to him. All we know is... he's called The Stig!

Moral: Now, Ryo. If I'd told you that I'd seen a flying car, would you accept what I'd said as fact, on 'spec'; purely on 'faith'...?

And now you - and all your fundie ilk - know why we're Atheists. One word: Trust. As in if someone - who claims to be a trustworthy friend - says they'll meet you at a certain place at a certain time, and if they do, fair enough. If they borrow your car - or a sizeable amount of money - and return/pay back such (intact & perfect condition with the former; if with a little more besides - interest - with the latter, all the better. If, on the other hand, they arrive late - or not at all; and should they return with your car damaged or not at all; or without your money, then you would disown that so-called 'friend', and find a new one.

Welcome to Planet Reality. 'Faith'? Doesn't exist here. But then, it - like what the very thing one is supposed to 'believe' in via this nonexistent concept, certainly not in the minds of sane people in this dimension, doesn't exist.

Even the Invisible Pink Unicorn - and His Noodliness the Flying Spaghetti Monster - can be seen. Where is your so-called 'Faith' now, fundies?!
