Quote# 86841

I believe atheists are taking a huge risk on their lives, eternity is a long time to be separated from God in hell. They say they do not believe in such things, but what we believe does not matter, it matters if what we believe is true. Atheists no deep down that God exists because otherwise they wouldn't be afraid of death and would not attack people of different faiths. I do believe the alien phenomenon is real but I believe it is demons is disguise and it will be a fake alien invasion by these fallen angels in the end times as revelation talks about.

"I believe atheists are taking a huge risk on their lives" tl;dr...

(*YAWN*)

"I do believe the alien phenomenon is real but I believe it is demons is disguise and it will be a fake alien invasion by these fallen angels in the end times as revelation talks about"

I refer you to the above pic, RG. Alv & Dvergr. ES-Members of GOTT. Their S-Class 'Absorb' ability can do infinitely worse than just rape any & all threats, alien, demon, angel or no if such even came into contact with them.

...but hey, one fiction (The Bible. The Sci-Fi anime series "Kiddy Grade") is just as good as another. Amirite?!

Or could it be that- and I know, it's a real strain to make the pictures come in your head, but hear me out- could it be that, JUUUUUST maybe, atheists fear death because it's the END OF LIFE?

I believe Christians are taking a huge risk by basing their lives on ancient fairy tales about a god for whom there is no proof.

As to being afraid of death, that's one of the very reasons for the development of religions, to soothe fears of death. Not facts, not evidence, just stories to make the believers feel better.

The sheer arrogance to assume that you are right because...well no reason, you just assume you are.

what we believe does not matter, it matters if what we believe is true. comma splice, -5

But you don't just believe God exists. You believe you can influence Him by your behavior and beliefs, and that you know how to do that (and everyone else of different religions don't). Since there are thousands of different religions, it's certain that most, if not all of them, are wrong even if God exists. So your beliefs are probably no more true than the atheists'.

{...otherwise they wouldn't be afraid of death...}

You mean just like the vast majority of humanity?

{...and would not attack people of different faiths.}

You mean just like how religious people do all the time, criticizing even those of their own faith?

Those atheists. Soon they'll have the audacity to blink their eyes every few seconds.

C'mon, leave the demons alone for a day or two. They're not hurtin' anything.

Atheists no deep down that God exists because otherwise they wouldn't be afraid of death and would not attack people of different faiths.

If Christians aren't afraid of death, then why did they have to make up an afterlife to make themselves feel better about dying?

what we believe does not matter, it matters if what we believe is true.

That is correct.

Believing 2+2=5 doesn't make it so. But what is truth?

Given the chance to put this question directly to the source, i.e. to God, Pilate asked Jesus that question. Jesus declined to answer. It's right there in the Gospel.

So, if Jesus was prudent enough to avoid making a fool of himself by trying to answer that one, why do you, RevelationGeneration? Are you better than Jesus?

Atheists do "no" in that they say no, there is NO God.

Most Atheists don't attack anyone, regardless of faith or following.

And don't get us started on Revelation, dude, that's so dead a horse you're actually whacking on a bottle of Elmer's...

They say they do not believe in such things, but what we believe does not matter, it matters if what we believe is true.

Ooh, so close. It's promising to see fundies actually express a capacity for critical thinking. Now if only they'd direct it towards their own beliefs.

More Pascal's wager. Such a weak argument which only works if you already believe in hell. Too bad Christians don't realize that it was an argument to make Christians feel smug and superior, and doesn't work on people who don't believe in a place of eternal torment nor would be likely to worship a being which threatens them with it.

The whole aliens=demons thing just sounds like a bunch of Rapture Ready nonsense.

Did you know, that there many mysterious things in all the multiverses, hyperdimensions, fantasyscapes etc? One of the most mysterious is Bible God. Most of this mysterious knowledge about aliens and Bible God is so mysterious that it is above top secret.

However, did you know that there is a web site whose knowledgeable scholars are dedicated to exposing all these top secrets for the benefit of us all.

Ah, that unique blend of science fiction and eschatology.
"What we believe does not matter, it matters if what we believe is true". So... what we believe does matter, then?
I'm looking for the verse in Revelation which says "there will be a fake alien invasion by fallen angels" but I can't find it for the life of me.

I'm an atheist (agnostic. I don't believe there is a God but will freely admit I could be wrong), and I am not afraid of death. I'd like to postpone it as long as I can, because I ENJOY LIVING, but when it's my time, I hope to take it in stride and have peace of mind.
As for the afterlife? Well, its like this. If I die and there's no afterlife, well then it's not like I'll care because I'll be DEAD. If I die and there IS an afterlife, then that's fantastic. I'll deal with it then. And then I'll start asking some questions, because God has a helluva lot explaining to do.

Well, he's got a point, you have to be religiously not afraid of death to tie a bomb to yourself and fly into a building. Terrorists are almost never atheists.

I'm not afraid of death, I just dont' want to die right now. I want to live a long and full life first.
I think dying is something like becoming unconscious, ie a black-out and then nothing.

I have never attacked people of different faiths. As far as I can deduce, it's mostly people of faith who attack people of different faiths. Atheists don't have any faith to defend.

\"Atheists no deep down that God exists because otherwise they wouldn't be afraid of death and would not attack people of different faiths.\"
Who attacks people of different faiths? Who brainwashes little children into screaming "fags/atheists/people of other beliefs go to hell"? We? No.

Faith or lack of it has nothing to do with being afraid of death. I have firm beliefs myself about what happens after death that I won't share, because they're unimportant, but I'm still afraid of dying because it's a huge damn deal. Ten minutes after I die, it doesn't matter whether there is something or not because I can't turn around, so what's to fear at that point? It's sort of like being scared of puberty, which is pointless.
On the other hand, I know perfectly well I might not get the peaceful "die in my sleep" option. Pain scares the crap out of me. Suffering before death scares the crap out of me. And I think that feeling is pretty much shared by everyone, everywhere.
