God has jack squat to do with the rights given by the first amendment. In fact, it says there can't be a state religion in the United States (and cutting the religions some slack by not interfering with them and making them tax-exempt).

Nobody is "committed to abortion", you dolt! We're committed to respecting liberty; the liberty to decide what happens to your own body, the liberty to decide how many children you want/can take care of. We also think that each child born has the right to be wanted, expected, loved and cared for. If you can't provide, you shouldn't have a child.
Homosexuals exist, whether you like them to or not. You might as well start prohibiting redheads in the military, or refusing people marriage to someone who supports the same baseball team.
Citation needed for this late term abortion you people always scream about. Is it really a big problem? In Sweden you have to have a medical reason for abortions later than 18th week. As in the fetus is malformed in some way, or the pregnancy threatens the life and health of the woman. An overwhelming majority of abortions are spontaneous abortions and most of them happen before week 12. Most induced abortion also happen before week 12.

I'm feeling a bit grumpy today, Harvey, so I'm going to dispense with the pleasantries and deliver a warm, hearty fuck you and the horse you rode in on.
It's glaringly obvious you don't give two shits for freedom. Or rather, you don't give two shits about freedom for those who don't think exactly the same way as you do. No, you're only interested in control, in submission, in ensuring that every single person is forced to live the way YOU want them to, and that anyone who doesn't is swiftly punished. You don't care that your endless tirade against people who just want to love each other devastates innumerable lives, or even outright ends them. You don't care that deciding how and when a women has a child is the defining factor in raising their health, education and general standard of living. And you certainly don't care that if your precious God was real he would smack you upside the head for being a selfish, arrogant, domineering pustule that spreads hate, intolerance and lies, all to feed your superiority.
But even you serve a purpose. People like you, so open in their bigotry and loathing of anyone not like them, show clearly to the world that your way of thinking is insane and destructive, and while it will take many centuries more eventually you'll be viewed in the same pitying way we currently view those who used to perform human sacrifice. But still, fuck you, you piece of shit.

Freedom of Religion does not give an institution (which is Federally and State funded) the right to push their interpretation onto others -those of the same and those of a different religion.
If anything, these bullies have been dictating this strange interpretation which was ultimately decided by a non-American pope, so fuck off with your persecution complex.

You're supposedly pro-liberty yet you want to exclude homosexuals from the military and prevent them from marrying? Someone needs to look up the definition of liberty ASAP.

Why are you whining about Christian colleges being required to provide contraception coverage? If your good little Christian kids are really as moral as you think they are, they won't be needing it. Why whine about Christian colleges being required to provide abortion-inducing drugs since none of your fine, upstanding, Christian kids will be having or needing abortions?
Or, maybe they're not as pure as the wind-driven snow as you think?

By this interpretation you would be okay with a Jewish company preventing its non-jewish employees from eating or getting pork in the office lunchroom? Or with a Jehovahs Witness run hospital refusing to perform blood transfusions on patients, even those of other faiths?
You see not offering contraception infringes upon the religious freedom of these women, if they do not believe in a religious interpretation that forbids contraception then they have the right to exercise the freedom to seek it as a normal part of health cover, you can't forbid them from using it.
Get it?

Brian Cox recently tweeted that in America he was asked to pay over $150 for some antiseptic eye drops. I can't remember the exact figure. I can remember the amount it'd have cost in his home country, though: £12. Abortion lunacy and women's rights aside, the situation in America is a terrifying shambles.
Fix it.

For the n+1-th time: contraceptives cause abortions like fire extinguishers cause fire. Where does the level of misinformation in this quote come from?

Wikipedia informs me that ~1% of all abortions performed in the US are at week 16 or later (so, somewhat less than 10,000 cases/year). That's a bit less than the rate of abortions for maternal health / fetal health reasons, but Wikipedia doesn't give a reference for what fraction of the late-term abortions are for medical reasons.

I don’t know and we need to pray for him because his insulting rebellion in the face of God is breathtaking. Pray for his repentance.
If it'll shut you all up for a minute, be my guest. In fact, please spend all your time praying for us heathens so we don't have to listen to your drivel.

@Thinking Allowed Basically, a FSTDT designed for specifically right wing people rather than fundies.
Also, the Republican Party didn't just do something wrong by trying to pass the Blunt Amendment. They did something STUPID. By cracking down on contraception coverage in times when the economy is far more important, they proved they just don't give a flying fuck about the American people.
Hell, Obama's compromise was more than fair (exempting religiously-affiliated organizations and not just churches), but no, the Republican Party couldn't have that because, (gasp), non-Christians would still have easy access to birth control. We must stop these "sluts" at all costs, even during election year! (Seriously, what were they thinking)
Whew... done. I tried to be fair to both sides, but when Olympia Snowe is the ONLY voice of reason in the GOP, I cannot remain unbiased.

You are free to practice your religion. You are free not to use contraception.
Others are free to not practice your religion, but to practice whatever religion they like, or no religion at all. They are free to use contraception. They are free to believe what they want, just as you are.
You are not free to restrict what other people can do based solely on religious grounds.
This is Freedom of Religion. This is the First Amendment.

We all support your right not to use contraception even though that means you'll birth more morons such as yourself. Just because you don't want to use contraception doesn't mean you and your club have the right to deny it to others. Sit down, shut up and try, just try, to be a positively contributing citizen.
