If fundies took even HALF the effort and money they spent on banning gay marriage and abortion and spent it on reducing poverty instead we wouldn't have any more kids starving to death in a first world nation. But then again, fighting poverty is what Jesus would have focused on so there's no way fundies would support it.

Yeah well, that's really the kicker, isn't it? What this says to me is that your whole argument against the "normalization" of gay lifestyle is in fact biblical-based and hence religious in nature. there's overwhelming opposition to amendment 1 in my part of the state. gay marriage is already illegal in north carolina and from what i understand the amendment's wording could potentially screw up a bunch of shit that has nothing to do with gay couples. it sets one man + one woman as the only "domestic union" that will be valid in the state of north carolina, which means that it completely fucks plenty of situations involving child custody, health/life insurance benefits, end of life planning, etc. stuff like common law marriage, civil unions, etc? gone, no legal standing. have a nice day and remember, jesus loves you.
us central/eastern north carolinians have this shit on lockdown. it's very unpopular here. it's western NC that might be the problem.

Hey Ricky, churches will still hold the right to accept or reject who they marry. If your precious church chooses not to certify legal marriage documents, they still hold that right. So tell me, where is your religious liberty being stepped on?

Yes, their agenda is to secure the rights denied them in the past, including same sex marriage. And they don't want to worry about losing those rights in the future either. If that fits your definition of "normalization", too bad.
Secondly, their goal is not the marginalization of religious people. Your decision to work to deny other human beings their full rights is why you and yours are taking political flack.
If you don't want to be ostracized like the KKK, then don't work to deny your fellow man their pursuit of happiness, like the KKK did and does.
Or you could do unto others as you would have done unto you, and leave the gays alone.
