Quote# 86482

Well, what we can glean from this is an understanding of why we are all on the road that we are on and it's based on what went into his thinking, being surrounded by radicals. [Obama] is bringing us back Sean to days that... you can harken back to days before the Civil War, when unfortunately too many Americans mistakenly believed that not all men were created equal. And it was the Civil War that began the codification of the truth here in America... yes, we are equal and we all have equal opportunities, not based on the color of your skin.

You have equal opportunities to work hard and to succeed and to embrace the opportunities, god given opportunities to develop resources and work extremely hard and as I say, to succeed.

Now, it has taken all these years for many Americans to understand that that gravity, that mistake, took place before the Civil War and why the Civil War had to really start changing America. What Barack Obama seems to want to do is go back to before those days when we were in different classes based on income, based on color of skin.

Why are we allowing our country to move backwards instead of moving forward with that understanding that as our charters of liberty spell out for us, we are all created equally.

What I'm getting from this: "There's a black man in the Oval Office! Therefore whites have become the oppressed minority!"

And let's ignore the Arabs and the Asians and the natives. As though they really matter.

Why the fuck would a person who has a mixed race family and got elected on a Progressive/Democratic ticket, want to regress society to Jim Crow laws.
Palin, we don't think you're an idiot, we know you're retarded.

I hate to say it, but you automatically discredit yourself when you say that freedom or opportunities in America are "god-given". They're not. They are derived from the government, which is (or should be) derived from the will of the people. God is not given even the briefest mention in the Constitution, and is therefore NOT the source of any American rights, liberties, etc.

I'm going to go ahead and quote Matt Taibbi and call Sarah here a junior league dimwit.

This is just so...laughable. I mean, she makes her living railing against progressives, who advocate progress, as should be made obvious by their moniker. But then she turns around and accuses Obama of wanting to go back to the old ways. But I thought he was one of dem ebil progressives! Isn't yearning for a return to tradition technically conservative? (yes, I know she thinks that Obama wants to institute blacks as the master race. Lol at that.)

Also, bitch please at "equal opportunities." Twat should do her homework about the profound effects of disenfranchising an entire class of people, economically, politically, hell, psychologically, before she opens her dumb trap.

Sarah Palin is not even trying to make sense anymore. She is unable to reason properly. She has, at most, a bunch of nice-sounding phrases about liberty and equality, which she simply repeats in speeches and interviews, and has somehow managed to build a political career thereby.
It's shocking and saddening that America has descended from the likes of Jefferson, Franklin and Adams to a politician who just repeats nice-sounding phrases like a parrot to cover up the most abysmal intellectual vacuity and the most utterly servile and reactionary of attitudes.
Other than that, this is just the tactic of "accuse others of the things that you are doing", in order to deflect attention from yourself.

Wait a moment! You have a dark-skinned man in the White House, and a woman as Secretary of State, and that means you are NOT all equal? Obama is trying to get you back to the days when he would not be considererd as fully American? Yeah, right!

Oh Sarah.
I am from a working class background. If you think I have equal opportunites to succeed against someone who has a rich daddy, got sent to Eton, can pull strings to get the right jobs, etc than I have a bridge to sell you.
