I think we knew this already.
And I'm sure, should the Dominionists achieve their ends, the Government would cease to interfere in people's lives completely. /sarcasm

Not news. Capitalism itself is a Christian invention. Google Max Weber's "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism".

It's lucky for them that God's economic policies mirror theirs. What would they do if he was a socialist?

And Jesus did say unto his disciples, "Forget thee all I said about not serving two masters. With greed, I am much pleased."

"About one in five Americans combine a view of God as actively engaged in daily workings of the world with an economic conservative view that opposes government regulation and champions the free market as a matter of faith."
That means 4 out of 5 (80%) DON'T believe that. Funny how numbers work, isn't it!

Which explains why the economy is so fucked.
I'm all in favour of regulating God.

So if they really believed in democracy, they'd understand that they are in the minority by a HUGE margin and accept it when they get outvoted. But no, they throw hissy fits and demand recounts, or worse, threaten physical violence against those who voted against them. I'd call them fucking depraved sociopaths, but I've already stated that calling them sociopaths would be too kind to them.
EDIT: @ Tolpuddle Martyr:
Your third picture didn't go through, even though your first two did. So what is the third picture of?

We call these people 'teabaggers'. And they are Americans in the same way AL-Queda terrorists who were born in America are Americans.

It's one thing to make shit up, call it religion, and expect everyone else to follow it. That's been going on for many millennia now. But to make shit that ISN'T IN YOUR OWN RELIGION while claiming that it IS is lunacy on a level that is both hilarious and horrifying.
It's as was said decades ago: the greatest argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter.

Who are "they?" And who are they to say the invisible hands of fascist dictatorships are not really God at work?
If one can't even show that God exists, isn't it awfully presumptuous to claim to know "God's plan?"

So, if they believe that the market is literally the hand of God, does it not follow that, by extension, they worship the market?
Huh. Seems a tad idolatrous to me. I seem to recall a man about 2000 years ago or so who said that one cannot serve both mammon and God. Seems like that would have been a rather moot point to make if mammon IS God.

With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.
