when they come together to formulate battle plans, their minds are going to be quickened by the Holy Spirit of God and under his nudgings, his promptings
But what if God favors the other side for some reason? Spiritual strength or none, you're fucking toast.
Oh yes, I forgot, God always fights on both sides. He loves to play doublethink games and have as many ceatures killed as possible. It's so fun!

History of warfare would like a word with you. If your outstanding, ridiculous notion were even partially true, all those non-Christian combatants over the course of time should have all lost, right?
Good point above about Christians vs. Christians. Remember in both World War I and II when "God" was on both sides?

I think you will find that your military strength is a function of your technological and financial strength with a bit of population strength to support them.

Dear Mr. Fischer,
After your bullshit about how medals like the Medal of Honor and and the service Cross glorify sissies, I'm not interested in your thoughts on the military. Kindly STFU and stop insulting all the people of different religions who, strangely enough, aren't Christian. It would be interesting to know what you think of all the Jewish, Muslim, and atheist men and women who were drafted or volunteered for service in WWII.
You know, a war we won.
No love,
SP

This atheist combat veteran respectfully asks you to please come talk to me after you have served America in the armed services.
Until then, shut your fucking face-hole.

It absolutely boggles my mind how you folks can spout ridiculous extremist garbage like this and almost nobody bats an eye or thinks twice about it, whereas they'd almost certainly shit their pants and cry foul if it were something more like:
"That's why it is so important that we have in the military men of faith, men of Muslim faith, who are in touch with Allah and with the spirit of Allah Because when they come together to formulate battle plans, their minds are going to be quickened by the Holy Spirit of Allah and under his nudgings, his promptings, they're going to be able to develop battle plans that are going to lead to victory on the field of conflict."
Yet you far-right Christian fundies believe you are a persecuted minority and have no privilege. The fact you get a free pass to say frightening extremist things without them getting labeled as such clearly shows otherwise.

@Lee: Don’t forget a modicum of strategy. Otherwise, you will waste a lot of that technology, financial strength, and population.

Honestly: Exactly the fact that the USA leaders were men of faith put the USA in their current dire situation.
Faith = Wishful thinking. And wishful thinking is something that became rampant especially in conservative circles in the last decades.
Faith made it possible that the USA started a crazy war without any exit plan or other plan B. Because their leaders acted on the principle: "Our cause is right and just! GOD is on our side! Therefore, we will succeed! It's a certainty! Anything else than immediate complete victory is not possible because GOD is leading us!"
Well, obviously something else than immediate complete victory happened...

It is funny that in every war, every country believes that God is on their side.
"That's why it is important that we have mujahideen who of faith, men of Islamic faith who are in touch with Allah and with the spirit of Allah......"

So what about the zealots? They lost pretty badly against the pagan Roman Empire, despite them having no shortage of god-fearing fanatics.
Or how will you explain the decay of the Roman Empire and its split in two after converting to christianity? It makes it look like finding god was the worst thing that could happen to Roman military power.
Or what about the Fall of Jerusalem to Saracen forces under Saladin? Or was Saladin just more devout than the decadent crusaders? Come to think of it, that is likely completely true.
Just count the number of times a religiously motivated christian country was defeated in war against those your ilk consider godless. Then count the number of times such countries thriumphed without the need of religious propaganda. I think you'll find that those guns, ammunition, tanks and soldiers have much more effect, and religious fervour is interchangeable with any other morale effect.

So why did the Christian Crusaders, who were trying to retake Jerusalem for Christ, get their butts kicked by the Muslims? Are Muslims more "in touch with God and with the spirit of God"?

As a shamanic practitioner, active US Navy, I'd like you to either join the military and actually earn some of those rights of citizenship you claim, or shut the hell up, Mr. Fischer. You are an idiot of the first class.

Good idea. So the Taliban and Al Qaida can say "The Crusader infidels are fighting a holy war against us, we must intensify our holy war against them". Yeah, that's a great way to fight your enemy. Turn yourself into an almost exact mirror image of them.
And then there's the danger of someone deliberately or unconsciously exacerbating situations as a self-fulfilling prophecy in order to make an Armageddon more likely, since that's what the Bible predicts.

Um....Christians don't always win. The Crusuades should be something you should think about as being proof. It is training, how well they work together and what the other military does.

J. C. Squire:
God heard the embattled nations sing and shout
“Gott strafe England” and “God save the King!”
God this, God that, and God the other thing –
“Good God!” said God, “I’ve got my work cut out!”
