Except that colorblindness doesn't actually keep you from serving in the USCG or USN. It keeps you out of certain jobs, but those jobs require you to be able to tell colors apart to a high degree of detail. Others? Not so much.

If the scientists did pinpoint the exact genetic cause of homosexuality they wouldn't try to cure it. The "ex- gay" movement try to do that but ignore science. And Genes! Only by necessity. If sexual minorities had equal rights - that is, sane rights - there wouldn't be a political movement to make things right. Obviously.
It's the same sort of thing that's happening in the arts and technology: if you're involved with the creative field at all, you're almost guaranteed to get politically involved, sooner or later, even to minor extent, because of the intellectual property rights situation. That's because the IPR laws are fucked up at the moment. If the world had sane IPR laws, artists and geeks wouldn't need to get to the politics - they would have more time to do the creative stuff.

I love the assumption, though, that it will be easy to find a "high level foreign contact" who is just aching to have a liason with one of America's spies... it sounds to me like this is a projection of some personal fantasy.

Anyway, teh gay appears to be due to an immune response by the pregnant woman. The more older brothers he has, the more likely a boy is to be gay. Read about the research by Anthony Bogaert, called the "older brother effect." And yes, the study has been duplicated.

There was a push to find a genetic cause for homosexuality, but that got hammered because if they found out it was genetic, then science would look for a cure.
How do you figure that? If anything, "t3h ghey" turning out to be genetic would only bolster the idea of civil rights for gay people, as it would then be, without a doubt, something that gay people wouldn't have any control over and thus couldn't choose. If anyone's argument would get destroyed by genetics, it would be yours and that of all the other fundies out there who screech that "gay is a choice". You would clearly be wrong, and would look really spiteful and stupid (then again, what else is new?).

Color blind people are most definitely allowed to serve. In fact red-green color blindness (the most common type) is preferred for snipers because it is easier to identify people in camoflauge.

I admit that I must laugh out loud at the reasons he gives for gay people being good spies. You know what, that alone actually makes this less homophobic than your typical Freeper rant, as he actually does want gay people in a certain government service, just not the military. Of course, he was probably joking. And at least he isn't implying that Third World hellholes are better than the US because of their bigotry, unlike literally every other fundie who mentions the homophobia there.
