Sadly, Mormons are not Christian, and another non Christian in the White house would effectively destroy all historical efficacy of Christianity on America.
Every fundamental preacher is screaming as loudly and maturely as possible ... "Don't allow this to happen, America"

I'm trying to figure out if he really means "efficacy" or if another word might fit better. Christians were rather efficient in wiping out the natives, but beyond that, I don't see his point. (and wiping out a group of people surely isn't something to be held as a model)

The only circumstances under which screaming could be referred to as "mature" behaviour are during sex or when facing immediate, mortal peril. Neither applies here.
I'm imagining a guy standing in an office, screaming incoherently with rage, flailing his arms, possibly foaming a bit at the mouth.
As Kim Possible once said, "Oh yeah, that's mature."
Sadly, Mormons are not Christian...
Good. Then they can split from you along with them Kwazy Katholics and reduce the True Christian(tm) numbers down to an easily manageable size for us nonbelievers.
...another non Christian in the White house would effectively destroy all historical efficacy of Christianity on America.
The "historical efficacy of Christianity on America" (yes, while quite clumsy this is still a valid statement) was destroyed by the 11th Article of the Treaty of Tripoli. Bitch.
actually lizuka, the catholic church does not consider LDS christian, they being heretics concerning the holy trinity invoked in the baptism. so the guy is technically half right. HOWEVER, if you want to open up a wiki binge of a few hundred hours at the very least, here are a few links that i did not completely peruse... i was trying to see which branches were not officially considered christian by the two main branches (catholic and protestant), and gave up...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_denominations_by_number_of_members
jehova's witness and LDS are in the restorationist movement for some reason... don't ask me how what joe smith did counts as christian primitivism, though...
as to the actual post, um, tons of non-christians are in the white house, being a visited place and all, in the government as well. screaming maturely: you can do it, look at singers (not just metal either): roger daltrey, roger waters, robert plant, tina turner... what is incompatible is "fundamental preacher" and "mature" in the same sentence... i wish they'd grow up and be a little tolerant... it's good to dream
and another non Christian in the White house
We haven't had a non-Christian in the White House since William Taft (he was a Unitarian). Since then, it's been nothing but Chrisitans.
According to Wikipedia , we've had 10 presidents with either no religious affiliation, or their views were "doubtful"
That means that nearly a quarter of our presidents have not been Chrisitan. Think about that for a second.
"Every fundamental preacher is screaming as loudly and maturely as possible."
As loudly as possible, anyway.
Is it possible to "scream maturely"? Just wondering.
Sadly, fundamentalist Christian views are being enacted into law all over the US, with for instance anti-abortion laws, the lack of universal approval of gay marriage and attempts to inveigle creationism into the classroom*. Your fears about Mitt are unfounded, because your insane, theocratic ilk are winning little battles to have your dogma forced upon the American public in states across the country. He wont change that.
A real non-religious person with some balls (figurative not necessarily literal) is something America strongly needs in the White House.
*Thankfully, mostly without success.

Don't you love how fundies claim that Christianity is the ineluctable bedrock of America while simultaneously portraying it as so fragile that a single Other could sneeze and destroy everything?
{Every fundamental preacher is screaming as loudly and maturely as possible ... "Don't allow this to happen, America" }
Fundamental preachers also foam at the mouth when denouncing freedom of religion for "heathens", denouncing gays being treated like human beings, preaching on how this nation is "Sodom and Gomorrah" revisited, and saying radical Muslim theocratic regimes are more moral than we are.
The fact that such fascists are hard against it is really an argument on why we should let it happen.
BTW, it's pretty hard for someone to be mature when they're screaming loudly.
I would be greatly pleased, (or truly stumped and horrified,) if one of you loopy bastards would kindly define just what the fuck is Christianity if you will so readily deny your fellow worshippers of Christ as being such. It must be so narrow and specific as to count 100 believers in it's entirety. Also your definition of maturity if it is so broad and accomodating as to allow temper tantrums.

So, you're basically handing Obama his 2nd term on a gold platter, then?
Because the GOP's only possibly credible candidate - Mitt Romney - is a Mormon.
Good. >:D
“The national government will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests. It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collective morality. Today Christians stand at the head of our country. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit. We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theatre, and in the press in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past years.” Adolf Hitler; Taken from The Speeches of Adolf Hitler, 1922-1939, Vol. 1
I agree that this guy is crazy, but I have heard the Mormons not being Christian thing from a non-fundie Protestant using the following as their reasoning: they defined "Christian" as "following the Nicene Creed", which Mormons explicitly do not do:
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Nicene_Creed#Views_on_the_importance_of_this_creed
"On the basis of their sola scriptura view, some evangelical and other Christians consider the Nicene Creed in no way authoritative, since it is not part of the Bible, and do not recite it in their services, but they do not necessarily reject it as erroneous. However, groups such as the Church of the New Jerusalem, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the Jehovah's Witnesses explicitly reject some of its statements."
Sadly, Mormons are not Christian
Until you need an argumentum ad populum then suddenly Mormons and Catholics become Christians again. Funny that.
I see their point actually. LDS beliefs make Christians look even more ridiculous. I grew up Mormon, and I think it was a lot easier for me to look at what I was told was true and think, "Wait, this is fucking retarded. You actually believe this shit?" The Joseph Smith story is even less plausible than something that may or may not have happened thousands of years ago, and casts a huge shadow of doubt on the whole story if you think about it.
In the No True Scotsman argument, you nitwits do't think Catholics are "really" Christian, either. So Kennedy, also from Massachusetts, (a divine coincidence?), wasn't a Christian. You think Obama is a secret Muslim. Wouldn't it be fun to re-elect Obama, elect Romney, or a Jew to the presidency? Just to see the mass emigration/ cult suicide.
Mormons are Christian, there have been no "Non christians" in the white house, the historical efficacy of Christianity is not relevant to the government, preachers screaming loudly are not mature, and preachers are supposed to stay out of political campaigning, anyway.
Any questions?
...my crazy aunt became a Mormon when she remarried and his Mormonism is the source of most of the huge fucktardy holes in Orson Scott Card's mind, so I can't really view it with enthusiasm. Whether they're Christians is another matter altogether, but they think they are and they are devotees of Christ, so at worst I guess they're heretics. Only heresy is more complicated for Protestants.
So good luck with that one.
@TheJebusFire
"Obama is a Christian."
Yeah, but apparently not Christian enough for some. Kinda like how he's "not black enough".
Dude, Mormons are just as crazy as you are (well, the fundies, but you know what I mean), but they are Christian, as they worship that guy you call CHRIST. Nice try, though.
"Every fundamental preacher is screaming as loudly and maturely as possible"
I wasn't aware that it was mature to scream loudly about how politicians believe in a different fairy-tale than yourself. I guess I might need to brush up on my definition of Maturity...
Isn't there something in your Constitution about there being no religious test for the presidency?
Mormons probably think that YOU are not properly Christian, stupid.
Most of the people outside the US would like to see less rabid Christianity in America, actually. Religion is best when it is rather private, as Jesus said it should be, ya know.
As Lizuka said, Mormons worship Christ, and are therefore Christian. I grew up Mormon, so I had this argument many many times. Very unconventional, yes. I'm no longer part of any religion. Why? Because I realized I didn't need to believe something just because I was told to believe. To have a Mormon in the White House... Ugh. I don't know what would be worse... And idiot like McCain or Palin in office... Or a Mormon coming from a state that, at one point, wanted to become it's own country just so it could be a theocracy and have it's own government. I shudder at the thought.
First of all, mormons are christians because they "warsup de jaysus"
I am not a christian and from my point of view all christians look kind of similar. I seperate them (and other religons) into fundy and not fundy because, fundys are dangerous!
Fundys have got to scream about something if this pisses the evil and "other" off all the better since because this proves them tobbe in the right. It especially thrills them to piss others off and to be regarded as foolish idiots because others walk in darkness and are blinded by The devil. This is like a drug to them: most addictive.
I call this "thunderious richerneyss"
The fundys are in quite a fix, they are going to have to chose between an "ebil coultist" and "the niggggger".
These people find it impossible to believe that a president that is both black and liberal is a christian.this is why they speek increadibke slander against him.
Wow, its almost like the GOP takes money from contributors, pays lip service to what they want, and then goes on to fulfill its own agenda of making sure the party is well taken care of.
Of course, that can't really be happening. Fair and balanced FOX News would be sure to tell you if it was.
Confused?
