Quote# 81645

Bible prophecy may have a bad name in the light of Harold Camping's misguided date-setting, but the biggest sign of the end may have been overlooked in all the rapture hysteria of last weekend.

Once again, we've seen the U.S. hit with a series of deadly superstorms following Barack Obama's pledge to return Israel to pre-1967 borders.

Just days after Obama insisted Israel must give up lands it won through military victory with its enemies, some 200 people were killed by a tornado in Joplin, Mo.

There's a pattern here.

We saw it in Katrina, when George Bush forced Israel's withdrawal from Gaza. In fact, as everyone from Israeli rabbis to U.S. senators have noted, it seems to happen every single time the U.S. pressures Israel to divide the land.

Okay, I grant it does look a bit like fulfilment of the "prophecy" in Jack Chick's "Someone Angry?", but not half as much as it looks like coincidence.

Given the fundies track record with probability (see: creationism) the argument has very little standing.

So, what did Obama do to cause the tornadoes in Tuscaloosa two weeks earlier? Or the massive tornado outbreaks in the Carolinas two weeks before THAT? If what Joseph Farah is saying is true, all Obama has to do is to keep bashing (i.e., not COMPLETELY kissing their asses like previous administrations) Israel and there won't be anyone left in the South to vote against him when the 2012 elections come up.

Wouldn't sending an e-mail be easier and more effective?

To: Barack
From: God
Subject: Israel

Yo, Barack baby. Don't you mess with my chosen people son.

So, you're not different from the senile guy who made the failed prediction. Stop calling the kettle pot.

There's a pattern here.

Yes. The pattern is called "the climate", as in the climate of tornado alley.

Holy crap, your god has a really shitty aim.

Guess this world is his toilet, and he just doesn't give a damn if he hits the bowl or not.

Oh for crying out:

Tonado Alley

If God was pissed why didn't he strike the entire population of Washington DC dead instead of striking Tornado Alley?

In all fairness, one has to admit that God did take a whack at all the liberals, Catholics, gays, lesians, academics, heathens, etc. in Massachusetts, even if his aim was a little off in hitting the western part of the state and not the east.

But still, it shows that God's not a total loser.

A vindictive asshole, yes. A total loser, no, not completely.

Hey, God, get a life.

Once again, we've seen the U.S. hit with a series of deadly superstorms following Barack Obama's pledge to return Israel to pre-1967 borders

There is a problem with your reasoning, Obama never "pledged to return Israel to the pre-1967 borders". If for any other reason because he's the US president and not the Israeli president. He "suggested" that Israel return to the pre-67 borders with mutualally agreed land swaps as a means to bring peace to the region. But god forbid WND be caught advocating peace.

Just days after Obama insisted Israel must give up lands it won through military victory with its enemies

"Won militarily" If the occupied terratorries were "won" then why has Israel treated them as military occupations for 44 years?

some 200 people were killed by a tornado in Joplin, Mo.

Haec credam a deo pio, a deo justo, a deo scito?

We saw it in Katrina, when George Bush forced Israel's withdrawal from Gaza.

Except the PM Ariel Sharon withdrew for Gaza voluntarily independant of US pressure. Moreover, what kind of loving, just or righteous "god" would kill innocents for the actions of others, actions they had neither a part of or a say in? Your "god" is capricious, petty, malevolent, and wholly unworthy of worship.

My house was hit by the Joplin tornado. My family took shelter in our basement closest. After this trauma it makes me angry to see unaffected jerks using this event to push their religion or bash Obama. Remember not everyone in Joplin is a conservative Baptist.
