okay lets have a lil quiz here about how someone like me who believes in a god (not the xtian one though) and someone who is an athiest feel about these.
1. Darwinism? Eh, just natural selection and evolution. It may not be perfect, but it makes a lot more sense than a floating boat of animals.
2. Babies? no, a fetus is not an infant or a baby. that's like saying a sperm is a baby. we believe in the "right to choose" but being men we're never gettign an abortion ourselves.

Once again, I assume you're referring to abortion. I actually know atheists who are opposed to abortion. I personally don't believe in abortion towards the end of a pregnancy, because I don't see how the baby is any different at that point than when it's inside of the body. But for the rest of the pregnancy the fetus can hardly be considered a being. Especially at the being, when it's barely more than a sperm and an egg joined together. And if for whatever reason, at whatever stage of the pregnancy, it is discovered that trying to have the baby would kill the mother, the woman should have an abortion immediately. Better to kill the baby that isn't born yet than the full grown woman who has family who love her.

Actually, I find that's more the case with hyper religious people (such as, you know, yourself). Although it's true that a small minority of atheists (just as your type is a small minority of christians) do have these tendencies. But it's hardly like every atheist believes in these things. I personally don't care what you believe, as long as you don't try to force me to believe it.

I doubt atheists supported the crusades – a religious (christian) venture that killed off many people. Actually, Christian knights raped and pillaged quite a bit too. Also, I doubt many atheists would support, say, the installation of Sharia law, because under Sharia law, we are considered infidels and would probably be killed off. Interestingly enough, under most traditional applications of Sharia law (though not modern variants so much) Christians were accepted as members of the community. We don't support the random killings of people (well most of us. There are insane atheists I'm sure.) We don't support the legalizing of torture (again, most of us). We don't support serial killers in their missions to destroy the human race (unless the atheist happens to be a serial killer.) And so on.
