Nearly every item of the homosexual agenda has been achieved except the final affront to their dreams, marriage. Yet time, and population trends are on their side and they expect to win this victory in due time. Ostensibly the law is designed to enhance the sentences of violent criminals whose motive is dislike of homosexuals rather than mere greed or anger, However, the real purpose of this law is to focus law enforcement, judicial and public policy instruments against the belief that homosexuality is wrong and harmful, and to associate this belief with criminality. Eventually, speech against homosexuality will be criminalized independently of any violent act (as in already true in several countries), but until then the “gays” and their allies will simply act as if this is already the law.

I know of NO country that has imprisoned or sanctioned anyone JUST for preaching. The ones that preach violence are punished since they can encourage others to violence or cause a breach of the peace by stirring up antagonisms.

If you think that hate crimes legislation is aimed at your church, then you probably should reexamine what it is your church believes. It's only people whose hate causes them to commit violent crimes who should be worried about hate crimes laws.

Okay. You want to take advantage of your 1st Amendment rights on the subject? Just come here to the UK - specifically London, Soho, Old Compton Street - and do a Fred Phelps. Nothing can - or will - happen to you, amirite? You're a citizen of the USA, whose right to say what you want is protected by the US Constitution, no less, amirite...?:



We in the UK don't even have a Constitution; our government merely abides by the EU Convention on Human Rights. US law has no jurisdiction in the UK. And then, there's the little matter of the Law of the Land. Got news for ya pal: homosexuality has been legal in the UK since 1967. Civil Partnerships have been going on for years now.

You try what I suggested above, and you'll soon discover that our police (especially London's Met) have a Zero Tolerance policy towards Hate Crimes. You do a Fred Phelps in Old Compton Street, and you'd have the cars & vans round (with their 'Blues & Twos' going), you cuffed & stuffed, in a van and round that police station & in a cell before your feet would fucking touch, pal. Thus:

Gay marriage will only affect gays. Not straights. Not bi (unless they want to marry someone of the same sex), not asexual. Only those that want to get married to someone of the same sex. Also hate crimes is not a formula for silencing Christians. You're not persecuted and they are there to protect people from racists, bigots, etc. Unless you are saying Christianity is bigoted
